Eight

"Phoenix!" Rick calls my name as Bryce and I have been sorting through what to and not to give to the humans when Rick runs our way "Merle, he took the truck" I look up to see it's close to sunset "he's gone back to camp"

"Get it" I order going to the drivers seat. T-Dog, Daryl and Rick get into the truck as Glen is in the trunk with Bryce, I drive the truck fast to the camp. I can't believe this is happening, this is why we should have killed this Merle.

When we arrive back to the camp it's dark, nothing bad has happened yet so I stop the truck. They run out and people look our way before Bryce yells "Watch out" to Andrea's sister who is grabbed by a walker, almost bitten but Bryce threw a knife at her head. All hell breaks lose and people start to scream and yell in fright.

Rick goes to his family while I use grab an axe and start killing the walkers, good thing Bryce and I got empty barrels. When we get all of the walkers, people start to cry since many people are gone and I look to Bryce who nods her head meaning she's fine. I nod my head and we grab the walkers and I use my magic to make edible blood.

"What" Shane demands "the hell are you doing?"

"Making edible blood" looking at him "you know? Blood if you needed for transfusions or anything like that, no disease in it" I make sure the barrels are filled to the brim before putting them away in the truck.

"Mom?" Bryce is next to me as she looks around "maybe we can make a colony, we talk to them—the human and we find our own place. I went by our home and you cleared it out so you probably meant for us to move right?" I look at my daughter nodding my head "so why don't we? We can find a place where we can make a place for everyone"

Sighing, I rub my brows before looking to the humans "We will ask them, but I'm thinking about us moving more north. So that we can have all four seasons"

"I have been drawing" she says and she leaves to hand me some blue prints "we find a town with a bunch of houses and we make it so that it's like a fortress" she points "then we have a bunch of field for vegetables, fruit, mom we can do this—"

Rubbing my face, I go for a walk. I mean I agree that I don't want to live in fear and if there is enough time we could eradicate walkers after a hundred years and—my god my brain hurts.

When I get back, Rick comes over to me "Phoenix? Jim got bit by a walker, is there a spell where you can save him? Like with the walkers how you make edible blood?"

I shake my head "I'm sorry, I don't know the spell. The spell I use is different—plus the person is dead dead when I use it. Not alive or Walker...I don't know what will happen"

"You might do more harm than good" he sums up, I nod my head "what about the CDC? Maybe we can get there, can you slow the process down?"

"Depends on where he was bitten" I say "if it was his arm or legs I could slow it down but if it was his chest or neck..."

"So nothing" Shane who comes over "she can't do jack shit"

"Okay" I hold my hand up "I've had enough of your shit towards me and my daughter, I haven't said it done shit to you and yet here you are—if it weren't for me or my daughter, more of you humans would be dead"

"And we thank you" Dale thanks me "um, this might not be the best time but I overheard you and Bryce talking and...if you are creating a colony, I would like to be apart of it"

"What?" Rick asks

"I wanted to wait to ask" they all look at me "but if you want, Bryce and I will create a community or some sort of compound where you all can start over. Like start over as humans and try to live behind walls to live in a community where you won't fear about walkers as much since you aren't in the open"

"So your offering" Lori asks me "to help us? Help us survive?" I nod my head "I don't know about Rick but I'd love your help"

"Me as well" Rick nods his head "you have been nothing but helpful to me and my family. To all of us when you didn't need to, there aren't enough words to express how much I thank you"

~CDC~

"So this compound" Rick asks me as I'm with the adults as Amy, Carl, Sophia are sleeping. Bryce is watching over them "what would it be like?" I'm telling them about my plan for building this compound type of thing because the last scientist of the CDC told us how there is only him and no one else. That everyone else is gone.

After Merle sent a bunch of walkers on the camp, a lot of people died. So Rick suggested we come here to this place and I agreed.

"We would find a bunch of houses, then put up a wall around it. Bricks most likely and we have houses. But as more people come in, we would expand" I say "and we would also have a field of vegetables and everything made around—I know these herbs that are medicinal...so yeah" I'm telling them this since I don't trust that clock.

"Why bricks?" Lori asks

Shrugging my shoulders "Why not bricks? The purpose of what I'm doing is simple, keep the remaining humans alive" sipping my blood as they stare at me "now the ideal location for a project like this needs to be someplace where it has the four seasons, someplace where the land is good to use and in the suburbs"

"You'll want to head north" the doctor tells me "someplace like Virginia or up that way"

Bryce looks at me "Mom I'm going to head in, night"

"Night" she leaves us

"What about for food?" Daryl asks "we can't just eat herbs all the time, we aren't bunnies"

Shaking my head no "Which is why we will raise chickens, cows, pigs...you children seem to forget that before modern technology, there were ways you humans got by"

"What are you going to drink?" Shane demands "our blood? Harvest us like livestock?"

"Shane" Rick warns

Holding my hand up "I don't know what your problem with me is fucker, but I'll be clear. I'm helping you humans out of the kindness of my heart. But insult me one last time and you'll see how forgiving I can be" leaving these people I go to get some rest.

After some hours, Bryce and I are about to leave since we don't trust the clock. We have our bags and go to the door when the humans come running to us.

"Phoenix!" Rick exclaims "thank god!"

"What?" I ask

"He's crazy" T-Dog says "he's going to blow us all up!"

"The clock" Amy explains "it's a countdown to an explosion, nothing more! We're all going to die!"

"It's a wonder how you all survive without me" shaking my head, raising my hand I let out energy that melts the window. People run out and we go to the vehicles, Bryce and I are in my truck along with Glen and Daryl. Out of him and his brother, Daryl is the better brother.

Driving as far away as we can, once the timer hits zero there is a large boom that will definitely draw the attention of the walkers.
