There were so many of them. Lurking in the darkness beyond the visibility of what her eyes could see; at least 30 pairs of glowing red eyes watching them without so much as a blink in their direction. It was only then did Olivia realize just how utterly deafening the noise around them was; not because there was a cacophony of noises that disabled her to focus on one particular sound but because there was no sounds at all. Utter silence that it felt heavy. Even the sound of her heart pounding in her head and her pants of adrenaline were muted - that fact alone scared the every daylight out of her. But when she looked up at Geralt he was in his full Witcher mode. He'd gotten off of Roach and now stood beside her scanning the eyes that were in the darkness of the woods around them with his inhuman golden ones. He could see them; she knew it. Could tell by the clench of his jaw covered in stubble and she didn't like the look in his eye.

Swallowing she shuffled to her feet feeling her limbs suddenly so heavy; almost as if every atom in her body was shifting; misplaced and trying to mold itself together. When she lifted her hand she swore the outline of her hand looked a little fuzzy like static on TV but then a black-gloved hand gripped hers and her eyes focused with sudden sharpness on Geralt who had not taken his eyes from the unmoved eyes even as he used the hold on her hand to pull her closer to his side.

"Geralt." Olivia's voice was nothing but a whisper that no one but him could have heard as she gripped his arm feeling her fingers tremble. "What are they?"

"Necromancers."

Olivia's brows pinched as she shook her head and tugged aimlessly at his sleeve whether to gain attention or to simply ground herself as she leaned over to hiss without taking her eyes away from the eyes.

"Necromancers are nothing more than human cult servants who practice dark magic to do with the dead and souls." she stated - or at least that's what she thought they were considered as far as she knew but the world here was a lot different when it came to its creatures and monstrosities than her world back home.

"Necromancers are but not the beasts they employ." the man replied as he slowly raised his free hand to reach behind his back to grasp the hilt of his sword. "Now when I tell you to run. You run."

Beasts they employ? Her mind raced as she stared at the eyes. Olivia knew she couldn't see into the darkness like Geralt could so she had nothing but her imagination of what he was looking at right now and her imagination could conjure up some creepy shit. Even when she couldn't see them she could feel their presence. But his words were heavy and serious in the space between them as he spoke to her but a part of her reared back like an agitated horse at the command. She was out here with him to help him - she wasn't that woman who knew nothing of this world or its monsters. She wasn't that scared girl who he first saved all those years ago and this was her time to prove she wasn't a burden to him anymore.

"Fuck you. I'm not going anywhere." she hissed grabbing her own blade and drawing it from the sheath.

"Olivia!-" Geralt's head snapped over to her with teeth bared in agitation but the dark-haired woman grabbed the strap of his sword's sheath along his chest and yanked him towards her until the pair fell to the ground in a tumble just as a few shadow arrows disappeared into the woods behind them.

The man stared down at her with wide eyes just a hair's breadth away from her but her head was turned to stare in the direction of the eyes. "I can't see them as you can Geralt; I don't have your Witcher's eyes and that's my downfall. But I can feel them; if I focus hard enough." she ducked her hand between their bodies and the white-haired witcher grunted but her hand merely tore a bottom strip of her tunic before raising the cloth between them.

"Blindfold me. It's the only way I can help because if my eyes cannot see I cannot fuck up and get distracted."

"That's the most stupid logic that's ever left your mouth and you've said some unimaginable things before." Geralt grumbled but he was met with a glare; had her eyes glowed this blue before?
