After Kenny left the house, I was feeling awfully depressed and miserable. I can't help but think, This might possibly be the last time I ever saw him. Something's telling me he won't be coming back. Judging by his last words, "your flight is in twelve hours", I may be right. I knew this day would arrive sooner or later, but I didn't know it would hurt this much. Heartbroken, can't even describe my state of mind right now.
I sighed as I took my phone, sat on the stairs and dialled Maddie's number. She answered on the first ring. "Hey. Uhm I just took care of the footage from the hotel. But you were like super descrete. None of the footage showed your face but I deleted just to be safe." Maddie said over the phone. "I landed here an hour ago.. and lemme just say this place is -"
"Maddie can you please come over ?" I interrupted her ranting, sniffing and wiping my cheeks with the hoodie.
"Yeah, sure..? Are you okay?" She asked and I could just see her eyebrows furrowed and nose scrunching.
"Yeah I'm fine. I'll tell you everything when you get here." I replied, she said I should give her twenty minutes before she hung up.
I scrolled down my contacts and stopped at Kenny's number. I debated on whether or not I should press the call button for a good five minutes before deciding to go against it. He needs his space, it would be selfish of me to just expect him to forgive me and forget about everything. Me and him are over, I just have to accept that.
I got a feeling of lightheadedness so I stood up to go get water in the kitchen but my steps became unsteady and I felt myself loose balance. Everything was spinning around me and I felt like I was floating or something.
I held onto the counter to balance myself with all the dizziness and vertigo. I felt cold and my vision became blurry. The last thing I heard before my vision blacked out was something falling on the floor. I think that something was me.

I woke up to the sound of a slow beeping noise next to me. I opened my eyes with ease and looked at my surroundings. I didn't know this place. Was I kidnapped ? No, a kidnapper wouldn't keep me in such a bright room. Everything in here was white, starting from the walls to the furniture. I would've thought I was in heaven but I know very well I'm not getting in there. I will be kicked out before I even step a foot in that place.
"Thank God your finally awake." I heard a familiar female voice. "I was worried sick about you." Maddie said as she stood up from the couch I didn't notice was in the room.
I looked at her as she came towards me and stood on the side of the bed I was in. "What the hell happened ?" She asked with a worried expression.
What the hell did happen ? I remember Kenny finding me at the hotel, I remember our whole confrontation, my confession, I remember him leaving. I remember calling Maddie. But after that, it's just blank. I basically remember everything that happened, so why can't I remember why I'm in the hospital ?
I tried to speak but my throat felt dry. Maddie must have noticed because she passed me the glass of water on the table. I drank half of the water and put the glass back on the table. I wasn't weak, I wasn't feeling any pain, I don't see any injuries. So what am I doing here.
"Why am I here ?" I asked Maddie the question I've been thinking ever since I gained consciousness.
"I don't know, I just found you unconscious, on the floor, at the beach house." Maddie replied. "Are you okay ? The doctor said it's nothing serious. But what the hell happened Blue ?"
"I'm fine. I must have fainted or something. Did you carry me to the hospital ?" I raised my eyebrows.
"No. I called Gaddafi as soon as I found you. He helped me out. He went to get us food now, he'll be here soon." She replied, sitting down on the bed with me. "I wanted to inform Kenny but he hasn't been to the beach house in two days."
"I've been out for two days ?" I narrowed my eyes and she nodded. Wow, okay.
I explained to Maddie everything that happened two days ago. Unsurprisingly, I remembered every detail vividly, every word and every action. I don't think I would ever forget this day, even if I wanted to.
"So after you told him everything, he gave you the flash drive and left ?" Maddie asked.
"Yeah. He literally didn't give two shits about my explanation or my feelings for him... or anything I had to say for that matter." I chuckled sadly looking at both my hands. "He didn't throw a tantrum or shout at me. He just.. left."
"Wow. Him giving you the flash drive is.."
"Unexpected? Shocking? Crazy ? Insane ?" I completed her sentence.
"Yeah, those words." She nodded. "Are you okay though? How does everything make you feel ?"
"Oh my gosh Maddie, I'm fine, for the hundredth time. And I'm not gonna talk about my feelings and emotions and all that other stuff." I rolled my eyes.
"Okay." She chuckled. "I won't ask you again."
"But if Kenny bought the flash drive to this trip. It means he was aware Valvoski was behind the human trafficking." Maddie continued. "The drive led him to Valvoski, that's why he came with it."
Well this was the last thing on my mind but now that I think about it, it makes sense. Valvoski was a part of the Sixty eight's gang, the former holders of the flash drive. The drive has every information about their operations and mafia contacts. Kenny had the drive in his possession so it means, he gathered information about the Valvoski's human trafficking associates from the drive. This does explain why he bought the flash drive along.
"Yeah." I agreed. "It also explains how he found me at the hotel. He was there to arrest Valvoski."
"Do you think this is the end of your relationship ?" Maddie asked softly.
"I don't think so. I know so Madds."
"But you did say he organised a flight for you. If it was really over, don't you think he would have just left you here ?"
"Maddie he was just being thoughtful -as always. No matter how angry he is at me, he would never desert me in an unknown island." I explained to her. "It's just not in his personality. He would do this for literally anyone, I think it's called humanity or something? Plus he probably did it because he didn't't want to share a flight with me."
"But still, that counts right? If it was any other man then he would've left you here with no-"
"Ms Cooper, I see you're awake." A woman with long brown hair walked in interrupting Maddie. She was a doctor, she had one of the most beautiful smiles and dark hazel eyes. I forced a smile and nodded.
"How long has she been awake?" She asked. "You were supposed to call a nurse as soon as she woke up." She directed her gaze to Maddie.
"She's been awake for like.. thirty minutes ." Maddie replied. "And I didn't know I had to call someone. We're not really familiar with this hospital thing."
The doctor smiled and shaked her head. She was pretty and nice. "How are you feeling ?" She asked as she took a pen from the little board she had and prepared to write.
"Uhh.. I'm feeling fine. No pain or weakness or anything." I shrugged my shoulders. "I can be discharged right? You said it's nothing serious ?"
"Well, yes. We did a physical examination, a complete urine analysis and blood pressure management." She explained as she looked at me. "We checked other vital signs which include temperature, respiration rate and heart rate."
"Unfortunately your blood pressure is higher than normal. You need to stop stressing yourself because high blood pressure may increase the risks of preterm delivery, or serious cases such as stroke or eclampsia. What you have is Preeclampsia, which happens if you previously had a normal blood pressure and suddenly develop high pressure in your urine or other problems after twenty weeks of pregnancy. The-"
"What ?" I interrupted her as my eyes widened. "I.. what do mean pregn.. ?"
"Ohh, you weren't aware ?" She trailed off smiling. "Well in that case.. Congratulations Ms Cooper, you're going to be a mother. "
