Blue's POV."Like I said, it's all about focus." I threw the knife from a distance and it landed straight on the mannequins neck. "No matter what your opponent says or does, don't get distracted. Your weapon and your target should be the only thing on your mind."
I looked at their impressed faces as they nodded. newbies, I internally rolled my eyes. "I'm gonna let you guys do some distance techniques for thirty minutes then it's one on one." I said as I put back the blades in place. I got out of the training room at our warehouse and headed downstairs to get a cold beverage and some fresh air.
I took a can of coke from the fridge and went outside and sat on top of the boot of my car. Maddie's Range rover parked infront of mine before she got out.
"What are you doing alone outside ?" She asked as she neared closer to me.
"I just needed a break. Training amateurs is exhausting." I opened the can, putting inside a straw. "What are you doing here ?"
"I came to train." She scooped on top of my boot.
"Try again, you wouldn't kill someone to even save yourself." I rolled my eyes and she chuckled.
"The boss man called me, something about tracking an anonymous threat message he got."
"A threat ? Why didn't he tell me ?" I narrowed my eyes, my dad tells me everything, so I wondered why he didn't tell me about this.
"Well, we think the person was just taking chances, it's not a big deal. He's just a small gangster tying to make quick cash." She explained and I nodded.
"It's 2 o'clock, shouldn't you be on your way to fetch the twins ?" She asked looking at her phone.
"Kenny's fetching them." I replied and she looked at me.
"Okayyy." She smiled.
"It's really not what you think." I chuckled.
"I mean you two have been parenting real good these past two weeks, are you telling nothing's happened ?"
"He barely says two words to me when he comes to take Kiara and Kai, forget about your fantasy." I replied.
"That bad ?" She raised her eyebrows and I nodded.
"Kenny hates my guts Madds, He's just being civil with me because of the kids. If it was up to him then he wouldn't even wanna see my face."
"You're not sure about that Lu, you just have to give him time-"
"Five years wasn't enough ?" I drank the coke looking at her. "Me and Kenny will never be together, I've accepted that, and I think it's time you do too."
"Well I'm not loosing hope, you love him Blue and-"
"Madds please." I calmly replied, interrupting her.
Her constantly staying in hope that Kenny and I will get back together wasn't making things easier for me. Acceptance, acceptance is the first step to healing. It's also the biggest and most important one. It's something I've failed to do these past five years. I couldn't accept that Kenny and mine's relationship was over, that's why I couldn't move on from him. That's why it has always been him on my mind before I went to sleep and after I woke up. Regrets after regrets. Thinking what if I'd done things differently. What if I told the truth on time. What if I didn't apologize enough to make him realise that my feelings for him were genuine. Kenny doesn't need my apology, he doesn't want my apology, I know that now. The reality is that I hurt him and he hates me, literally nothing can change that.
