I felt like air was literally being chocked out of my breath. "M-Max ?"

He smirked. "Hello little sister."

"W-what are you doing here ?" I stuttered in a low tone.

This isn't what I'm thinking it is, please don't let it be.

"It's pretty obvious isn't it ?" His hands went to his pockets as he strolled towards me. "Or you want me to enlighten you ?"

Please do, cause I'm failing to understand what's going on here. My mind is just all over the place, I'm shocked, I'm confused-

"You know what day it is today ?" He sat on the chair opposite to me.

I slowly shaked my head in response to his question and he chuckled. "Of course you don't."

"The Crimal Convention." He continued. "This time today, you would've been crowned leader of the Goated Gang... a position that should have been handed over to me, it should be me taking over!"

"Is this what all of this is all about ?" I narrowed my eyes in disbelief.

"Ofcourse it is, what did you think? Huh ?" His eyebrows arched. "That this is all a silly game and I kidnapped you out of boredom ?"

I can't believe this, Max is the closest thing I have to a brother... My own cousin tried to kill me, he threatened and kidnapped me all for what? a leadership position?

"Max you know I wasn't just handed over the position. We both had a test to determine-"

"A test that was set to your capabilities!" He interrupted bitterly.

"Don't tell me about the stupid test." Max shaked his head. "Dad knew very well you would win. And you would take over... exactly how he wanted it to be."

I hate seeing Max like this, this is a sight to him that I've never experienced and I don't like it. I just want my sweet and loving brother back.

"If you want to take over the gang I can talk to dad." I replied. "I can tell him to hand over everything to you and make you continue his legacy... Max I didn't know this meant so much to you."

"You don't get it do you ?" He chuckled standing up. He went around the chair he was seated in and held on to it while looking at me. "It isn't about the power Blue. If dad wanted me to continue his legacy then he would've done that a long time ago..

... He would've handed me the position without even thinking twice. I'm his son, I'm his only child... And if that isn't enough, I'm the oldest between the two of us. What more evidence do you need to prove that you're leader because dad wanted you to be, not because you won the stupid test ?"

"Max-"

He chuckled coldly. "You know Alexander is my dad... but he has never been a father to me as much as he was to you. Sometimes I just wished he'd love me atleast half as much he loved you."

Max's anger and frustration was slowly turning into hurt and disappointment. He had tears brimming in his eyes. I could handle his resentment and anger towards me, but seeing him like this broke me... It pained me seeing him in this state.

"This isn't about the position, or power Blue... This is about the pain and misery you caused me by being in our lives." He thundered. "This is about you always taking everything away from me. This is about me having to earn and beg for my father's love because Blue's more important to him...

... All my life I've seeked for dad's validation. But you know who didn't need to? You." Max's teared up. "Because you've always been his favourite. You've always been his pride while I was the weakling at the back."
