FINALLY.
After what felt like forever, work is finally over. As I walked home, the evening breeze flowing through my hair made me feel relaxed. I walked past the empty streets feeling extremely hungry. I got home and the door was locked. Weird. Ryan wasn't home yet. Well maybe he must be hanging out with that Josh friend of his.
I freshened up and started cooking. It was getting late. Ryan still wasn't home so I called him. He wasn't picking up. My worry was slowly increasing. I called Josh to ask him about their whereabouts, when Josh said he hadn't seen him all day. My worry had now become panic. I put on my coat and went out to search for him at his typical hangout spots. I searched in the park. No one. But i could hear some commotion from behind. I went to look only to see Ryan being beaten up by 3 guys with bats and belts while one stood watching emotionlessly. I jumped in and screamed "STOP IT! STO-" and one guy accidentally hit me on my back with the belt. The tall one who was standing signaled for him to hold. "What is your problem woman? Just leave if you wanna fucking live." He was really scary. Words couldn't describe how scared i was, but i still managed to reply "Are y'all crazy?! Grown men beating an 18 year old kid for no reason at all?"
One of the guys replied "No reason? Your friend here beat up our guy and stole all his belongings"
I was stunned.
"There's no way my brother would steal or beat someone up. Maybe you have the wrong guy."
I looked at Ryan and he just stared at me blankly, his eyes showing fear and guilt. So it was true. I asked them how much money we owed and the number was nothing like i expected. Even my salary for two years wouldn't be enough for this kinda money. They picked up on it from my expression and started hitting him again. "STOP IT PLEASE! I BEG YOU ILL DO WHATEVER YOU SAY JUST LEAVE HIM ALONE! Please..."
