I stared at the ewer still trying to process what I saw. Lady Galadriel was the first to break the silence. "What did you see my dear?" she asked. I forced my eyes from the ewer to look at her. "I think I met Manwe. He told me I was a wandering soul as he called it."
She didn't seem to be surprised one bit by the words that I was saying. "So you do believe me now?" I nodded.
"Good." A small smile plastered her lips. "What else did he tell you?"
"I was told that every once in a while a soul crosses the borders of the two worlds and that I will have a great effect on the elves. He didn't tell me what my task would be exactly but it looks like I am meant to stay." I tried to force a smile to cover the fact, that I wanted to cry.
Lady Galadriel took a few steps forward and laid her hands on my shoulders. "I have seen what you have seen in the mirror.. Do not mourn the past. You will accomplish great things in your future."
Once again my sight got cloudy and I passed out again.
Flashback ends
I was met with wide eyes at the table. Only Gandalf looked like my story was completely normal. Haldir began to stroke my arm when he thought that Legolas eyes were lingering a bit too long over me. Everyone was to stunned to speak so I started eating again not looking from my plate unsure of what the others were thinking.
Gandalf was the first to speak again. "Since everybody seems to be taken aback by your story let me ask you something. I am pretty sure the one elf whos life you would change drastically is Haldir, but did you find out what your task for the elves was?" I raised my eyes chuckling a bit by the curiosity in his question.
"I did indeed find out. Or at least I make myself believe that I have. Once Haldir left to Helm's Deep I took on his role as commander of the marchwarden protecting the northern borders. We lost many man to the ongoing attacks of the orcs but Lothlórien stayed safe during it the whole time." Haldir clutched his hand onto my arm by my story.
When he came back to Lothlórien after the Dagor Dagorath I told him what I did. He was caught completely by surprise and for a moment I thought he would loose it. But the only thing he did was smile. He smiled like a madman while scooping me up in the air.
"You are a wonderful woman you know that?" he said. "I am so thankful that you were brought to this earth and I will always cherish you."
Gimli grumbling in his beard snapped me back to reality. "A woman fighting in a war. Yet alone lead a complete unit of marchwardens. This is not right." Legolas hit him on the back of his head. "Just because you dwarfs are a backward society doesn't mean everyone else is." He scolded. Gimli on the other hand banged hit fist on the table.
"Dwarfs are not backwards. But putting a woman in a fight is just not good. They should be taken care of and not see the horrors of war. Besides that women are way more inferior fighters than men!"
"Hold your tongue, dwarf." Haldirs voice boomed over the table. He was clearly not having Gimli talking over females like that. He stood up setting me back on the chair and drew his sword walking straight over to Gimli who jumped out of his chair grabbing his axe.
"What will you do against my axe? I have slaughtered way taller enemies than you, elf." Gimli roared waving his axe in the air. Everyone looked at the two of them in disbelief of what was happening. I was back to my senses the fastest.
Like an arrow I jumped out of my chair lunging between the two of them drawing my daggers. I was just quick enough to stop Haldirs sword from slicing Gimli in half. "Enough!"
Haldir looked at me with shock. On the one hand because I defended a dwarf on the other hand because he could have seriously wounded me. Gimli was still fuming behind my back. "Look at that. The elven prince surrendering to his wife. I have to say maybe in your world women are allowed to fight because the men cannot bring it on."
