"You know, that Legolas is watching you since the beginning of this dinner?" Haldir asked, directly at my ear, to avoid the other elves to hear our conversation. I didn't turn my head towards him and just nodded: "Do you wish me to talk to him?"

Haldir shook his head. "No."

"Then what are you implying?"

"I have eyes." He simply answered pulling me into a tight hug. "I love you and I would never restrict your decisions."

I tried to look at him, but he kept me to his chest. "Be assured, that I would never act on a simple attraction."

Now he let go of me, bowing his head once more, a cocky smile on his lips. "I know. But I would." My face fell white, not sure how to take his words.

"I have taken action of asking Legolas to join us tonight."

I nearly choked on the wine. "You what?" My voice was hoarse, jumping into a higher octave, alerting some other elves around us. Lindir, the servant of Lord Elrond approached us, bowing his head. "Is everything alright, my lady?"

Not wanting the situation to become a spectacle I nodded. "Yes, Lindir. Everything is fine. I was just surprised, that's all." I put a hand on his shoulder. "Your concern is appreciated, but not needed."

With a light nod, Lindir bowed and retracted to the edge of the platform. I grabbed Haldir by the arm and pulled out of the room. When I was sure, we were outside of the hearing range, I turned to face him. "Why on earth would you do such a thing?"

"Because you wish for it to happen." He simply stated not showing any regret on his face. I looked behind him and saw several eyes watching the conversation between me and my husband. "Are they able to hear us?" I asked and Haldir shook his head. I let out a low groan. "I don't desire Legolas the way you think. You are enough for me. And I am sorry, if I ever made you think any different."

"You believe, I am purely doing it for you." He concluded from my reaction.

"Of course, I do! What else am I supposed to expect?" I threw my hands in the air, forgetting I was holding a goblet of wine, nearly spilling it. A large group was now watching us from the higher platform, where the dinner was hosted, but I didn't care. I put down the goblet and started to walk in circles around the water fountain in the middle of the balcony type of thing Haldir and I fled to.

"I am sorry, for not being as precise as possible in my explanation." Haldir started. "But I am not solely doing it for you. Don't take that wrong, but I was thinking about bringing in another person for a long time. And the fact, that Legolas seems to be your other soulmate, suited my decision."

I stopped dead in my tracks. Not knowing what to respond to that, I just stared at him, like a deer would stare at its predator. Slowly he approached me taking my face in his hands. "You don't have to consent to my request. I was nothing more than a thought, that I led myself take actions on." Putting my hands over his I smiled at him. "Okay."

"What?" He clearly was caught off guard by my agreement.

"I said it is okay. Now you made me curious and I want to try it. I trust your love and your decision to not let it ruin our marriage." I gave his hand a small kiss. "And now tell me, nin herven. What did the poor Legolas answer to your offer?"

Haldir began to smile at the thought it. "I think I frightened him to death. We were training alone late at night and I had him pinned to the floor, when I asked him. I believe he thought I would murder him, so him getting offered a night with you, caught him off guard."

I shook my head. "You had to scare him, didn't you?" Haldir just grinned a boyish smile. "If I am not mistaken, I am still your husband. The man who promised to protect and love you for eternity. So, excuse my attempt to do so, by simply taking the lead."

"And you think making Legolas believe he is about to die is achieving that? I am sure the poor ellon will never talk to me again." I scolded him.

"He consented."

"What?"

"Legolas consented." He repeated. I let go of Haldir, not sure if I was to smile or to run off. "He is currently waiting for your approval. So, when you are ready, just ask him."

"That was unexpectedly simple." I said, rubbing my face. Taking my goblet, I started to walk back. Haldir at my heels. "Where are you going?"

Pretending it was amistake, I let my fingers wander over his crotch, forcing a hitched breath outof Haldir. "If I am not mistaken, we have a dinner to attend to. And besides that,I am not drunk enough to have the courage to talk to Legolas."
