The next day, I woke up early. I hadn't slept well, the upcoming wedding making me toss and turn in the bed to a point where Haldir had threatened to tie me to the bed. Legolas had stayed the night somewhere else, keeping up the play of us not having shared a bed. Arwen had offered to help me with my wedding preparations and I had gladly accepted her kindness, so I wasn't surprised that she barged into the room a short time later, effectively kicking Haldir out.
"By Valar. You look awful." She exclaimed. I rolled out of bed, groaning at her words. "Good morning to you too..." Not having any of my sleepiness, she relentlessly pulled me out of bed and dragged me towards the bathroom. "Lets get you presentable, shall we?" And that she did. She was at my side, when I washed my hair always making sure to cheer me up. We talked about everything and nothing at all, waiting until my hair had dried. Elrond, Thranduil, Haldir, Geralt and Jaskier all came to visit me at some point wishing me luck. Geralt stayed the longest, a sad but happy look in his eyes.
"I never imagined that this day would be such a mess." He grumbled; his voice audibly shaken by emotions. I got up from my seat, taking him into a long hug. "You are such a dad." I laughed, hiding my face in his chest. I could hear his ribcage vibrate, when he groaned at my words, but he didn't say anything. Only Arwen ripping me out of his grasp and kicking him out as well, made sure that we stayed on time for my big day.
Braiding my hair in a very difficult way, she made it into a half up half down style, decorating it with the little gemstones that came from my tiara I had to wear as Haldirs wife. When she was finished, she set the tiara Thranduil had given me as his soon to be daugther in law on top of my head. I looked at me into the mirror. I wore a long, backless black dress with a low cut neckline. My waist was sinched in by a golden piece functioning as a corset. A black choker plated with gold connected itself to the shoulder pieces with delicate chains. The sleeves of my dress were wide and cut open, giving the feeling of a cloak rather than a piece of the dress.
"Now this, I call a bride ready to marry." Arwen exclaimed, clapping her hands exitedly. Then she raised to the door, calling out for Haldir. When he came in, she hugged me one last time, leaving me to get ready herself. There I stood. In front of my husband in a wedding dress and about to marry another man.
"You look so beautiful. Legolas will love it." He said, taking in my form with a soft smile. I felt the blush creeping up my cheeks, my hands shaking nervously. "But do you love it?" I asked, the tension and insecurity clear as day in my voice. Sensing, I was about to cry, he rushed towards me taking me into a strong hug.
"Of course I do. You are my wife, remember? Just because you are marrying Legolas too, does not mean I will love you less or see our relationship as less important. This is what makes us whole. I can feel it. Your fae is calling out for both of us and now its not only a call but more a whole choir singing for us. This is what is meant for us. And don't you dare let anyone else tell you otherwise, you understand?" He shook me softly to make sure I understood what he said. Nodding and blinking the tears out of my eyes, I whispered: "Okey. I love you."
"I love you more." He said, bending down to kiss me.
We had decided to walk down the isle together as a team, Haldir then taking his place next to Legolas to show his open support to everyone who was still in doubt. And now here I was. Standing in front of the two men I loved the most, silent tears rolling down my cheeks, while I tried to concentrate on the things Legolas said in his vows:
"I Legolas Thranduilion pledge to you Visha Galahon, that I give you what is mine to give as I shall serve you in the ways you require. I pledge to you the first bite of my meal and the first drink from my cup, as the honeycomb will taste sweeter from my hand. I shall be your shield for your back and you for mine. I shall not slander you, nor you me. I shall honor you above all others, and when we quarrel, we shall do so in private and tell no strangers our grievances. This is my wedding vow to you. And I promise that until all eternity, that you shall be mine to love, protect and cherish, as I will gladly take you as my wife in this marriage of equals."
With tears streaming down my cheeks, I tried my best to focus on the gorgeous man in front of me, as he leaned in threading up his bead that symbolized our marriage. With a soft stroke of his thumb, he wiped away the tears, giving me a reassuring smile. But I could see in his blue orbs, that even his self-control was straining hard against the feelings of happiness that overrun him. Now it was my turn and with a shaky and tearstained voice, I spoke my vows to him:
"I Visha Galahon promise to respect you Legolas Thranduilion as your own person and to realize that your desires and needs are no less important than my own. I promise to share with you my time to bring you joy, strength and safety to our relationship. I will forever keep myself open to you, to let you see through the window of my world into the innermost fears and feelings, secret and dreams. I hope to grow along with you, willing to face changes in order to keep our relationship alive in the good times as in the bad ones. With all I have to give, I will stay at your side completely and forever."
Now it was my turn to clasp my hair beads into his braids and I nearly failed when my hands were to shaky. But I managed, after Legolas had taken my fingers into his hands, giving me a reassuring smile. After that, Lord Elrond officially announced us as wife and husband, Legolas immediately bending down to kiss me.
