Party On Our Own•

I'd thrown a small birthday party for myself, I was turning 23, it wasn't a big party, very small just some of my closest friends.
It was actually a lot more fun than I'd expected it to be, we played party games that really made me feel like a child again.
We played some board games, had too many glasses of champagne, and finished the night with a very tasty coconut cake.

"I'm having you throw my next party." Isiah laughed from his spot on the couch.
"I'd be honored." I giggled placing one of the birthday tiaras on his head.
I was still in a pretty red dress, I had on black sheer tights and a tiara that said birthday girl.
Around my house were multiple tiaras that varied in colors.

Speaking of my house, it was very messy, there were party streamers every where, party poppers, balloons, wrapping paper, the leftover evidence of a very fun night between close friends.

"You look pretty." Isiah's voice pulled me out of my thoughts.
"Thank you." The blush that crept onto my face couldn't be hidden nor could the large smile.

Isiah and I are best friends, well that's what I tell myself anyway, I wanna be something more, but there's no chance in hell that I'm ruining our friendship, I can't live without that boy.

"Damn we wrecked this place." Isiah's laugh once again pulled me out of my thoughts.
"Oh I know, the bathroom looks horrible."
"Without context that sounds wild."

To give you context, we were taking pictures, my friend had brought a red velvet cake which is now laying face down on my bath tub.
A food fight may or may not have broke out in the midst of pictures.

"It was all in good fun though." I smiled as I got up and headed for the kitchen.
"For sure." God his laugh was so gorgeous.
I hopped up on the counter and started munching on the bag of cheese curls I'd found.

I sat admiring the way Isiah smiled and laughed.
"You want me to stay and help clean up?"
"You're staying, but we're not cleaning." A smirk formed on my face as I watched him stare at me confused.
"We're gonna party on our own."
"What does that mean? Should I be scared?" Isiah looked at me slightly worried.

"Alexa! Play don't stop the music."
"Just because the people left doesn't mean the parties over." I giggled grabbing his hand.
"It doesn't?"
"Not when I'm around."
"Baby I am the party."

Dancing.
My favorite thing to do, I can't dance to save my life, but I'm gonna dance, no matter how bad or embarrassing it is, I'm gonna dance.

"You suck." Isiah laughed from behind me.
"I know." I smiled too lost in the music to care.

Isiah's POV:

She's horrible at this, I couldn't help but laugh.
"You suck." I told her
She didn't look hurt or anything, she just smiled widely and said "I know."
She continued dancing.
I couldn't help but stare in awe, her moves were awful to watch but the way she carried herself, the way she was so free, it was enchanting, she was enchanting...

Your POV:

"Isiah!" I laughed waving for him to join me.
"I don't know Y/n/n."
"I might embarrass you because my moves are better then yours." Arrogant asshole.
"Shut up and dance." I told him as I grabbed his hand and pulled him into the center of the floor with me.

I don't know how long we were dancing, maybe two hours? I'm not sure, but Alexa was playing a great playlist and my body was moving and I was high on life and so I danced.
Until I got hungry.

"What's even open this late?" I whined sitting on the couch trying to think of places open at three in the morning.
"McDonald's?" Isiah laughed.
"Cardi B and Off-set meal?" He joked.
"Shut up, we're not getting McDonald's.
"I want breakfast." I sighed, I couldn't think of anywhere open this late that serves breakfast.
"Waffle House?" Isiah spoke, I felt my eyes widen, why didn't I think of that?
"YES!"
"Get your shoes on!" I quickly jumped off the couch and went to grab my shoes.
Was I going to waffle house in a dress and heels? Yes, yes I was.
Was I ashamed?
No.

"You're not changing?" Isiah laughed at my excitement.
"Nope." I shrugged opening the door and heading for Isiah's car.
"We're taking my car?"
"Quit asking dumb questions and get your ass in the car I'm hungry."
"Yes ma'am."
"Oh I like that." I mentally face palmed I can't believe I said that out loud.
"Oh yeah?" He smirked as he pulled out of my drive way.
"Pretend I didn't say that."
"Yes ma'am." He knew what he was doing.
"Go to hell."
Isiah smirked and laid his hand on my thigh, he's done this before, multiple times before, so it wasn't new to me, but every time he did it he had me feeling some type of way.

"Waffle House, you are my soulmate." I smiled with my arms wide open as I made my way to the door.
"You're crazy." Isiah laughed opening the door for me.
"A gentlemen doesn't call a lady crazy." I scoffed looking at him.
"Shut up."
I stuck my tongue out at him earning a flick on the forehead from him.

"Happy Birthday." The woman smiled as she came up to take our order.
"Thank you!" I smiled widely
She nodded her head and took my order before taking Isiah's, I noticed the way she spoke sweetly to him and eyed him seductively.
I had no right to be mad but it made me mad.

"She was flirting with you." I scoffed jealously as I watched the woman walk away.
"Why do you sound jealous?" He smirked.
"I'm not, I just don't think she should be flirting, I mean what if I was your girlfriend?"
"You're jealous."
"I have no reason to be jealous." I scoffed crossing my arms.
"You're jealous." Isiah sang laughing as the woman from before sat our food down sending a sweet smile Isiah's way.

The breakfast was great, but my mood was sour thanks to my jealousy that I didn't even have a reason for.
"Lighten up Y/n/n, she doesn't stand a chance." Isiah laughed.
I froze for a split second, what did that mean? She doesn't stand a chance? With him? Or against me?
"What's that supposed to mean?" I needed answers.
"I'm not interested in her." He shrugged opening my car door.
"I'm interested in someone else." He was being so nonchalant it was pissing me off.
My breath hitched, we tell each other everything, this is news to me.
"Who?" I tried not to sound jealous.
"Someone." He shrugged.
Oh he's infuriating.
I rolled my eyes staring out the window, I was pissed now and all I wanted to do was go home and sleep.
Isiah once again rested his hand on my thigh, his fingers drummed along to the song playing on the radio.
I wanted to stay mad, but the gesture was so wholesome that I couldn't help but smile at him.
So much for staying pissed.

"Is the party over yet?" Isiah laughed as we walked into my house.
"What time is it?" I asked him as I tossed my heels onto the couch.
"Almost five."
"Party doesn't stop until I'm dead Isiah."
"That was dramatic."
"Good, we're gonna catch the sunrise, go grab that blanket." I motioned for him to grab the blanket that was hung over the kitchen chair, I don't know why it was there so don't ask.
Isiah tossed the blanket to me and I caught it running out the back door and stepping into the damp grass.

I sat in-between Isiah's legs, the blanket wrapped around the both of us.
"Happy Birthday Y/n." Isiah whispered in my ear as the sun started to shine brightly down on us.
"I hope all your wishes came true." He chuckled.
"They did." I smiled in awe of the sun.
"There's just one thing missing."
"What's that?"
I turned around so I was now straddling his waist, I watched Isiah's eyes flicker to my lips, this let me know that I wasn't going to regret this at all.

"This." I whispered connecting our lips.
Passion, that's the only word that can be used to describe it.
For years all I've wanted was to feel his lips on mine, and here I was, sat in my back yard on my 23rd birthday making out with the boy I'd been wishing to make out with for years.
Dreams really do come true.
Happy birthday to me.
