•My Reason To Win•
"Momma," d/n tapped me on the leg.
"Yes babe?"
"Is daddy winning?" She watched as Joe ran across the field, making a touch down.
"He is," I smiled to myself.
It's the Super Bowl, and the Bengals are playing the Rams, it's nearing the end of the third quarter, and we're up 17-24."DADDY," d/n screamed, leaning over the wall.
Joe turned around at the sound of her voice, a smile immediately lining his face.
Joe pointed at d/n and threw the ball towards her.
I watched her eye widen and her smile grow, she backed up ever so slightly and caught the ball, pumping her fist in the air after catching it.
Joe nodded proudly at d/n, his eyes moving towards me.
I blew him a kiss and mouthed 'I love you.'
Joe caught the kiss."I caught it mommy!" D/n's little hands held the ball up, her smile wide.
"You did baby! I'm so proud of you," I hugged her.
"Do you think Sam will sign it for me?" She asked with a small glint in her eyes.
Although Joe is her dad, Sam Hubbard is her favorite player.
"Maybe, we can ask him."
"YAY!""WHO DEY, WHO DEY," I giggled as I watched d/n sing the Bengals chant.
Two minute warning has just signaled, we're 24-24, whoever makes the next touch down wins the Super Bowl.
I watched, my knee shaking, d/n was screaming the chant next to me, I watched the ball soar.
Ja'Marr Chase touch down.
"FUCKING YES!" I jumped up and screamed.
"Bad word momma!"
"Oh hush it! This is a moment that calls for bad words!"
"Hell yeah," she giggled jumping up and down.
"Excuse you?"
She smiled shyly, giggling mischievously.
I shook my head, laughing."Daddy," d/n ran towards Joe.
I watched from afar as Joe picked her up, laid his forehead on hers and held her close, his body was shaking, he was crying.
"My love," I spoke softly, laying my hand on joes shoulder.
He removed one of his hands from d/n and pulled me in to the hug, holding the two of us close.
"I'm so proud of you," I whispered, pressing a kiss to his cheek.
Joes cries continued, they were tears of happiness.
"I couldn't have done it without my girls," he whispered, pressing a kiss to the side of my head.I smiled to myself as I watched Joe congratulate his team, black and orange confetti was falling, d/n was dancing in it.
She was running around with some of the players kids.
The field was full of giggles from the kids, the bengals full of joy and tears, and the stands screaming the Who Dey chant.
It felt like a fever dream. But it's real, it's all real.
I watched Joe stand up on the make shift stage and held up the Lombardi trophy.
I nodded proudly to myself, I'm beyond proud of him, he and this team deserves this."None of this would've been possible if it weren't for this team, and for my girls," Joe pointed towards d/n and I.
Tears welled up in my eyes at the heartfelt speech Joe was giving, it was an honor to be included in it.________________________________________________
