A loud ring awoke me from my midmorning nap. "What," I said, sounding groggy. "Are you just waking up?" A very familiar voice asked. I huffed, "Nope, I just took my mid-morning nap, Dam."

I could hear the sarcasm dripping from his voice when he responded, "My apologies." I rolled my eyes, to which he responded, "I can practically see you rolling your eyes."

"Ok, so now that you're done being a psychic, what are you calling me at this ungodly hour for," I said, rolling over and hugging my pillow to my chest. He chuckled, "First, Lina, it's twelve in the afternoon, and second, I was wondering if you could meet us for dinner." "Us?" I asked in a questioning tone.

"Yeah, my brother and I are going to the futball game today, and he wanted to meet you," he explained kinda nervously. "Because you're all he talks about," I heard a voice yell in the background.

I broke into a fit of laughter. I already like his brother. "I'll be there. Just text me where and when," I said breathlessly. We said out goodbyes, and I went back to laying down on my bed.

I saw Vic had texted me saying that she was out with friends. Knowing this, we can perfectly rationalize me almost killing Chili when she comes through my bedroom door.

At about 3:30, I convinced myself that I should get out of ped and get ready. I was still too tired and lazy to wash my hair, though I did take a shower.

I decided to go with the usual makeup. Some blush, mascara, eyeliner, and highlight. I then turned to look at the growing birds nest on my head. I decided to do a slick back bun, and with lots of hair gel and brushing, I was successful.

I picked out a brown plaid shorts and jacket set and paired it with a black tank top and some black heeled boots. I grabbed my small black shoulder purse and, after saying bye to Chili, left.

It was only a twenty minute walk to the restaurant."Lina," Damiano said, waving his hand as I turned the corner. I smiled at him.

He was wearing his Roma gear. "Hey," I said, walking up to him. He hooked his arm around my shoulder and said, "Lina, I want you to meet my brother, Jacopo." "Nice to meet you," I said, shaking his hand.

"So you're the girlfriend he won't shut up about," he said, smiling. "Yep, that's me," I said, chuckling.

Jacopo went to get us a table, leaving me and Damiano alone. I locked my arms around his neck, "So I'm your girlfriend?" "Are you not?" He questioned. I laughed, "No, I am, you can't take it back." He smiled and gave me a quick kiss.

"C'mon, let's go," I said, breaking the silence. "So, how was the game?" I asked, sitting down on the other side of Damiano and Jacopo.

"Stressful, but we pulled through," Damiano said with a sigh of relief. I chuckled and rolled my eyes, "You would think you were on the field playing."

Damiano gave me a playful glare while Jacopo said, "You should have seen him when he played futbal as a little kid. Boy, does mom have some pictures of you."

I burst out laughing, "I never took you for Mr. Serious." "Shut up," he said teasingly. "I'm good," I shot back with a victorious smile. "Did you do any embarrassing sports, Angelina?" Jacopo asked.

"I did dance, so I have those pictures, but don't plan on them ever seeing the light of day," I told them. "I'm sure I could convince you," Damiano said, wiggling his eyebrows.

I glared at him, "Fuck you!" Jacopo laughed, "And that's my cue to go to the bathroom."

After he left Damiano came to sit by me and lit his cigarette. "I never knew you did dance," he told me. I nodded, "It was all I used to, I would spend hours at the studio."

"What happened?" He asked, curious. I sighed, "Life, school, and now I just have to figure out what I am doing with my life." He took my hand and kissed it, "Your doing great."

I was about to respond when Jacopo sat back down. "Look at the love birds," he said, smiling. I could feel the blood running to my cheeks.

"Aww, look whose embarrassed," Jacopo said. "Fuck off," Damiano said pulling my head into his chest and kissing it.

And that's how the rest of the meal went. Laughing, talking, and eating for them.

It was nice to see Dam hang out with his brother. He seemed so relaxed and happy.

"I'm going to go run to the bathroom," Damiano said getting up. I watched him leave and couldn't help the small smile to creep onto my face.

"I haven't seen him this happy in a while," Jacopo said leaning back into his chair. "I think your going to be good for him," he added.

"He makes me happy too, more than he knows," I told him. "Don't break his heart, or let him break yours" he told me, smiling. I smiled as best as I could and said, "Trust me I won't, and you don't have to worry about me."

He nodded as Damiano came back to the table. We talked a little more and then we paid and left.

"I think we are going to go get some coffee, want to join?" Damiano asked. I shook my head, "No, you should go spend some quality time with your brother."

"Ok, text me when you get back," she said kissing me. "I will," I told him.

On the way home, I was thinking about Jacopo had said about not breaking Damiano's heart. I knew he had demons, everyone does. But those demons could never drive me away. I would fight them with him.

I wasn't going to break his heart, because his heart is worth so much more than mine.

For me it's simple. A person's whose heart is already broken, can't get hurt.
