BACK TO CROSS.
1774, NOVEMBER 28th, MONDAY 8:16 pm.
Creeps's face was engraved on the surface of the moon and stared down at all who lived on the planet below. The undead infection had been staved off due to a lot of fire and other destructive forms of create. Noche stood before Boots as he remained frozen where he saw his sister die.
"You killed her."
Noche flinched.
"Boots I – Edward wouldn't have kept his word," she spluttered. "You know him. He would have killed her regardless."
"You said you would save her," he muttered. "You were so confident. You stated it over and over. You never hesitated... and I believed you."
The orange-haired boy lowered his gaze, inch by inch, towards the dirt.
"Now she's dead. Worse than dead. She had a chance to live and you took it."
His eyes snapped in her direction and she took a step back.
"M-My parents are gone, my grandfather is gone, I... I couldn't lose you too," she weakly responded.
"You took my choice away," he stared at her; made himself lock eyes with her. "You took my freedom away. Forced your will upon me like I was some slave... You're no better than DeathTech."
Noche's eyes went wide. "B-Boots... I'm sorry."
His lips twitched into a curl.
"Sorry? You're sorry. You ignore all my warnings, recklessly charge straight into Edward's trap, take away the choice to save my sister, and you're sorry," he growled. "You know, I once thought you were dead. Turns out I was right. The person I see standing before me isn't my friend. She's just some monster!"
"B-Boots, you shouldn't say that," Tak whispered.
He snapped his head in the immortal's direction.
"Someone who can't die shouldn't lecture me about my sister's murderer!"
The white-haired boy lowered his head and his eyes glanced away. For a brief moment, they met Noche's, but there was no sympathy in them. Only disapproval and disbelief. Shaylin, Mary, and Alice approached but none of them spoke a word.
Cross soldiers approached the group and they carried a DriveMetal box. The approached Boots, but Noche got in their path.
"What are you doing?"
"Stand down soldier," The Red Grave brother approached with a grin on his face. "He's with DeathTech. We're arresting him."
"Didn't you see what happened!" She snapped. "He's not with—"
"—Did I ask for your opinion? I thought I said stand down," Red said. "Or is this insubordination?"
Noche didn't react and that was enough for the soldiers with the box to push past her. They closed it around Boots, leaving only his head visible. She watched with clenched fists, but if she was being honest with herself, all the fight had been drained out of her.
The rest of the evening was a blur. Spirits were low with so many dead. Medusa had planned to make this a temporary outpost and to investigate the area and castle further, but with her death, the Grave brothers had changed that plan. A full retreat was ordered and the campsite that was created in minutes was left behind.
