DW TO THE TWO PEOPLE IN THE COMMENTS FROM LAST CHAPTER I SEE YOU 👀👀 HERE'S CHAPTER 17
The End.
Blue looks me in the eye excitedly. "CAN WE START THE NEXT MOVIE?" he asks, bouncing up and down energetically, unlike Classic and I, who are both sprawled lazily over the couches. I slowly lift my head. My neck hurts.
"Sure," I shrug. The small gesture takes a lot of effort. It's the consequence of watching three 2 hour movies in a row without moving. "I might have to make lunch, though. What do you want?"
The usual flurry of requests are submitted throughout the downstairs. Tacos, ketchup and hot dogs, cucumber sandwiches, and Mexican. Only a few people didn't shout out what sounds good for lunch.
"Well," I proclaim loudly so everyone can hear me. "I'm insanely tired and cramped, so sandwiches it is. Because they're fastest." There's a few groans, but besides that, everyone seems fine with our menu. I sluggishly get to my feet and shuffle into the kitchen. Only Red sits at the counter, tapping his fingers against the marble. I look at him curiously as I open the drawer for sandwich bread. Red keeps drumming his phalanges in a rhythmic pattern.
Right as I start to lay out the bread, and start the microwave for popcorn, I hear a little bell. My phone? Am I actually getting a text? I seize my phone and look at the notification.
Brooklyn
1:34 PM
hey y/n. its been a while, want 2 meet up sometime?
I gape at the text. Brooklyn messaged me? My ex-best friend really wants to get together?

1:35 PM
sounds good. where u wanna go?
Brooklyn
1:37 PM
lol i didnt think that far yet. wut do u wanna do?
I smile to myself, thumb hovering over the keyboard. Brooklyn hasn't changed at all since we last talked. Still speaking before thinking and being too confident in herself.

1:39 PM
the park is good, i need to stay close 2 home. does saturday at noon work for you?
Brooklyn
1:40 PM
yeah see u then
I breathe a happy sigh of relief and put my phone down, then pick up the two opposite corners of the popcorn bag. I took it out while waiting for Brooklyn's response. Tugging on the corners forcefully, I ponder why Brooklyn texts me now. We drifted apart so long ago, and now that I have new friends, it could be awkward spending time together so suddenly. Speaking of friends, how am I supposed to leave the skeletons home alone again? The house is gonna be a pile of debris when I return!
Oh well, I think to myself, snaking the contents of the popcorn bag into a bowl. I'll worry about that when the time comes. For now, I stride back into the living room with a spring in my step. I'm surprised to see a quivering lump hiding under my blanket. I stoop down and lift up the corner of the fabric. Blue looks at me with large, frightened eyesockets.
"Hey," I say softly. "Whatcha doing under here?" Blue says nothing, instead, he latches onto me and doesn't let go. I smile and pull him out, then turn to the TV.
"Harry Potter," I think aloud. "You should've waited for me, Blue." He just trembles and burrows next to me on the couch and only moves to eat a handful of popcorn occasionally. This is perfect. Everything is perfect. But I don't want to jinx this; I have a feeling this is all going to end soon.
