High school is like a kdrama. People have roles; some are good and some are bad. And some, like you, only exist to continue the story.
The main lead is Hana, yet you're just there for comedic relief.
You all watch as she gets the guy and be happy while you just try to make it to the next episode.
"What's your name again?" The question makes you hate yourself. You have to smile and brush it off to seem like a cool character.
"I'm Y/N." You say, once again, just for them to forget it later.
"Ah, you're Hana's friend, right?" Oh. The girl waits for you to say something while you just look at her and try to stop yourself from snapping at her.
You have a name, you're not just Hana's friend. You have a life, hobbies, things you love, and things you hate. You have a story to share, yet they're too busy watching Hana's.
"You heard her." The manly voice from behind made you turn around and look at him as he stared coldly at the girl next to you.
"She's Y/N."
The way your heart starts beating so fast makes you feel dizzy.
"Yeah, I mean I just- forget it." She rolls her eyes and walks away, leaving the two of you alone, together.
"Are you okay?" The guy asks, his eyes carrying a hint of worry. "Don't mind her."
His name is Jungwon and he's the same age as you. Of course, you know him because he's kind of famous at school.
You remember watching him play the piano with the rest of your classmates who seem to be head over heels for him.
This is the first time someone remembers your name and stands for you. It makes you feel appreciated and worthy, somehow.
"Thank you." You smile a little, feeling your cheeks heat up.
"Did you have lunch?" He asks, his dimples showing when he smiles back at you. And you find yourself gazing at them.
"No... not yet."
"Would you like to join me?" You stare at him for a moment, trying to figure out if he's joking or being serious. "I feel like we could have a nice time."
This is a first, no one ever asked you to join them for lunch before.
"Uh, sure," You hesitantly say, suddenly self-conscious. "But I have to warn you, I'm not that interesting."
You know that you're just another face in the crowd. You're used to being overlooked and forgotten, but when he holds your hand and pulls you with him, you find yourself feeling almost like a main character.
Jungwon finds an empty table in the cafeteria and pulls out the chair for you. You're taken off guard for a moment but then you smile.
"Thank you." He nods as if to say of course.
The two of you sit face to face, looking at each other and smiling before you start eating. Jungwon's eyes and dimples are so beautiful you'd stop staring at them.
"Do I have something on my face?" He tries to wipe whatever that's nonexistent and you chuckle.
"No, I was just wondering if it's you, the guy who plays piano and makes all the girls stand at the door and watch him." Your words make him smile but you notice his ears turning red.
"It's probably me." Jungwon chuckles. "And you're the girl who always sleeps in class?"
"How did you know-" You gasp, eyes widening. Was he watching you?
