Sunday 31st July

The girls had done their training and were about to head of to Wembley to get ready for the final, I had gotten changed into my suit and was about to do my tie when Leah stopped me and started to tie my tie. "You nervous" I asked. "yeah absolutely shitting it" she replied "Well just remember you will always be my champion" I said. I leant down and placed a kiss on her lips. We exited the room and made our way down to the bus, Once we got outside we saw all of our families with banners wishing us good luck and cheering for us. Once we got on the bus we headed to Wembley. The girls went to the changing room and I went to the boxes and met my dad.

"Hey dad" I said "Luke son, I have missed you" he said as he gave me a hug "LUKE!!" I turned around and seen Jess, Em and James run towards me and pulled me into a hug. I talked to my family for a bit until I had to go down and give the girls some words of wisdom before the match. I seen Sarina outside of the changing room. We entered the changing room, Sarina said her speech and she looked at me.

"I just wanted to say that I have had a fantastic time spending the summer with you guys, seeing you push yourself for something you all believe is inspiring, watching you al become role models for the young girls out there has made me so proud of each and everyone of you. I know I only joined the staff due to my injury but I hope I can continue doing this for any future tournaments you all have because you are all truly inspiring and have boosted my knowledge on the game but also how a match should be played which I will take into consideration when the men play, You are going to make everyone proud tonight who are watching out there whether they are in the stands or are watching from their tv's at home. Just have a good time out there and soak up the game this might be your only chance to play in a home euros. So play for the badge and make sure that people don't just remember the number on the back of your shirt but the name that goes with it ok" I said and the whole team cheered. Sarina and I walked out to the stands along with the subs and waited for our team to walk out.

Next minute the stadium erupted with screams from the fans, both teams had walked out and the national anthems had been played. The girls got into their positions and the whistle blew. The game had officially begun

England are in their traditional white, Germany in green.

3'BIG CHANCE FOR ENGLAND!

Almost the perfect start for the Lionesses as Kirby drives down the left, cuts onto her right foot and delivers an inch-perfect cross for White, who has peeled away from her marker. She connects with a thumping header, but it's straight at Germany goalkeeper Frohms.

6'SCARE FOR GERMANY

Germany are clearly nervous and Huth makes a mistake to concede the first corner of the game. Mead's delivery is cleared but Bronze keeps it alive, delivering a cross into the middle. With White applying pressure, Frohms drops it but quickly collects it on the bounce.

9'MORE DANGER

Here come England again, Walsh threading a dangerous ball through the left to find Mead. She drives to the byline and manages to squeeze in a cross, it's cut out by Frohms before the offside flag is raised.

10'HUGE BLOCK

And just like that, Germany almost take the lead. Dabritz's shot is heading for the top corner until Bronze makes a vital intervention, heading the ball over the bar. It's all for nothing though as the offside flag then goes up.

12'OVER

Dabritz is afforded too much space as she picks up the ball in dangerous territory but she can't keep her shot down.
