Leah's Pov

The day of our family gathering had finally arrived, and as the sun rose in the sky, casting a warm glow over everything it touched, I felt a surge of excitement and anticipation building within me. Today was the day we would share our wonderful news with our loved ones, and I couldn't wait to see their reactions.

As Luke and I busied ourselves with the final preparations, the scent of barbecue wafted through the air, mingling with the sounds of laughter and chatter as our families began to arrive. Luke took charge of the grill, expertly flipping burgers and turning sausages as he chatted with his dad, their conversation punctuated by bursts of laughter and the occasional sizzle of the grill.

I watched them from afar, a smile tugging at my lips as I admired the easy camaraderie between father and son. With a cold beer in hand, I made my way over to Luke, the cool condensation from the bottle soothing against my skin.

"Here you go, babe," I said, handing him the beer with a playful grin. "You've been working hard at that grill all morning. Thought you might need a little refreshment."

Luke's face lit up with gratitude as he accepted the beer, pressing a quick kiss to my cheek before taking a long sip. "Thanks, love," he said, his voice warm with affection. "You always know just what I need."

As I stood by Luke's side, chatting and laughing with our families, I couldn't help but notice the curious glances my way, particularly from Luke's dad. With a knowing smile, he approached me, a twinkle of mischief in his eyes.

"Leah, love," he began, his voice filled with warmth. "Why aren't you joining us for a drink? You're usually the life of the party."

I felt a flush rise to my cheeks as I searched for the right words, my mind racing with anticipation of the announcement we were about to make. "Oh, you know," I replied, trying to sound casual. "Just taking it easy today. Thought I'd stick to something non-alcoholic for now."

Luke's dad raised an eyebrow, his expression thoughtful as he studied me for a moment. Then, his eyes widened in realization, and a smile spread across his face. "I see," he said, his voice filled with excitement. "Well, in that case, I'll have to grab you a sparkling water. Can't have you feeling left out, can we?"

Before I could respond, Luke's dad turned and disappeared into the house, leaving me standing there with a mixture of nerves and excitement bubbling inside me. It was almost time to share our news, and I could hardly contain my anticipation.

As the afternoon wore on and the scent of barbecue filled the air, our families gathered around the table, sharing stories and laughter as we enjoyed a delicious meal together. Luke and I stole glances at each other across the table, our hearts pounding with excitement as we waited for the perfect moment to make our announcement.

Finally, as the sun began to dip below the horizon, casting a soft, golden light over everything it touched, Luke and I exchanged a nervous glance. It was now or never.

With a deep breath, Luke stood up, his voice clear and strong as he addressed our families. "Hey, everyone," he began, his eyes shining with excitement. "Leah and I have something we'd like to share with all of you."

A hush fell over the group as Luke took my hand in his, the warmth of his touch grounding me in the moment. "We're expecting," he continued, his voice trembling with emotion. "We're going to be parents."

A chorus of gasps and cheers erupted from our families as the weight of our announcement sunk in. Tears of joy welled in my eyes as I looked around at the faces of our loved ones, each one filled with love and happiness at our news.

Congratulations and hugs were exchanged all around as our families enveloped us in a tight embrace, the love and support surrounding us like a warm blanket. In that moment, I knew that our little one would be welcomed into a world filled with love, laughter, and endless joy.

As the night wore on and our families celebrated late into the evening, I found myself overwhelmed with gratitude for the love and support of our families. With Luke by my side and our little one on the way, I knew that our lives were about to change in the most beautiful and miraculous ways. And as I looked around at the smiling faces of our loved ones, I couldn't help but feel a sense of overwhelming happiness, knowing that our family was growing in the best possible way.
