The UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup would be claimed the following season. He also established himself as a key figure in the England side.

However, not long after winning the champions league and just 7 games into the 21/22 season he tore his ACL injury which saw him out for the rest of the season.

Lucas was limited to 27 appearances last season due to injury but has featured regularly throughout pre-season under Mauricio Pochettino.

And the next time he walks out in Chelsea blue, he will do so as club captain.
