Riley's POV

My first period is history class. When I got to the classroom, I took a deep breath and opened the door. Everyone's head snapped towards me and I gave a small, fake smile to everyone.

It was kind of embarrassing being late to class because (1) I haven't been absent or late to school since 4th grade or something and (2) I hate it when everyone is looking at me. I feel like they think something's wrong with me.

"Ms. Matthews, your late." my dad said sternly.

"Sorry daddy," I said hoping that he wouldn't mark me tardy. "It would've been nice if you woke me up before you left to school." I said crossing my arms.

"Riley, your old enough to wake yourself up in the morning. Now go to your your seat." dad said.

"Wait. Are you marking me tardy?" I asked.

Dad sighed and said "No, but this is the last time I'm letting you of the hook."

I gave a sigh of relief and said "Thank you daddy." and gave him a quick hug a walked to my seat.

"Hey guys." I said with a smile.

"Hey Riles." Maya, Farkle and Lucas replied.

"Did I miss anything?" setting my backpack down.

"No but everyone's really talkative today so I think Mr. Matthews might put us all in tables instead of rows." Farkle said with a shrug.

"I don't think that'll change any-" I said when my dad cut me off.

"Okay everyone quiet down. Because I figured that everyone was going to talkative on the early Monday morning, I made a new seating chart and everyone will be in tables not rows." dad said with a smile like it was the most exciting thing in the world.

Then he held up a piece of paper attached to a clipboard (which I'm guessing is the seating chart) which makes it official.

Everyone sighed in unison once they figured out my dad wasn't kidding. To be honest, they should've seen it coming.
