Broken Hearted

Chapter 4

Riley's POV

"Hey Mrs. Friar.." a familiar voice said.

"Hey Missy.." I said turning around to face her. "What do you want?"

"I want you to die. You don't deserve to live. Can you just jump off a cliff already?!" she yelled in my face.

Tears were forming in my eyes. "W-what did I ever do to you?.." was the only thing I could choke out.

"Also, stay away from Lucas." Missy said ignoring my question. "He's my man. I better not catch you flirting with him." she said continued.

"Just because I sit next to him in History and was picked to be his partner for a project doesn't mean that I like him.." I said trying not to cry a river.

Missy rolled her eyes in response.

"Are you guys even dating?" I asked.

"Not yet but I'm planning on asking him out.. because he's really cute.. don't you think?" she asked.

I didn't reply.

"Fine. Don't answer me. Just stay out my life." she said pushing me against the lockers. Then she walked away.

No one was in the halls so I slowly sat down next to the lockers and cried for about 5 minutes.

..I better get going. I'm already late for my next class..

For the rest of the school day I tried my best to pay attention to the classes and gave everyone fake smiles so they wouldn't suspect anything. When school finally ended I saw Maya leave with Sarah as I walked to my locker.

I sighed, opened my locker, put in and took out books and notebooks that I needed for homework, slammed my locker shut and slowly walked out of school.

Maya's POV:

"Bye Sarah!" I said as she got into her parent's car.

..Great. Now who am I supposed to walk with?..

I usually don't walk straight home after school. I just like talking to my friends that are waiting for there parents to pick them up. Just when I turned around I saw Riley.

"Riles!" I called.

"Hey Maya.." she said looking at the ground.

"What's wrong Riley? You're usually so upbeat and happy." I said.

"Oh.. uh.. it's just that I have to go to my aunt's funeral tonight.." she said still looking at the ground.

"Aww.. I'm sorry.." I said putting my arm around her. She looked up and gave me a small smile in return.

..I love it when Riley is happy, it makes me happy.. but when Riley is sad, it makes me sad..

"Ooo do you know what happened today at school?! So during science class I was standing next to Zay right. And then out of nowhere, Sarah pushed me toward him causing both of us to fall on the floor. Then I was all like 'Oh my gosh I'm so sorry' to Zay and then Sarah said 'Don't be sorry! He's your boyfriend!' and I was all like 'HELL NAWWW!!!' Then the rest of science class was just awkward for me.." Maya said.

Riley POV:

That's when the smile on my face faded away. Sometimes I can't stand her. She's so arrogant sometimes. Yet I still consider her to be my best friend. Thankfully, Mom found Maya and I so she picked me up, saving me from listening to Maya.

Well I got the idea of that because that actually happened to one of my friends!! I just replaced my friend and her crush with Maya and Zay.

Yea Maya and Zay. They're not the best "ship" but if it wasn't Zay it would have to be either Farkle or Brandon.

Thank you for being patient with me.. I haven't been updating because I've been kinda busy the last few days. And these braces are really uncomfortable. But I guess I'm getting a hang of it..

But that's beside the point.
