saying good bye and mason chapter 14

We are finally burying Grayson and Richard today.

I still felt nothing even when I knew it was coming. I was supposed to feel guilt. 

So after getting dressed and looking in the mirror to make sure everything was in place, I heard my mom call out.

" Sweetie, we have to go said Miranda. I walked out of my room to see both Bear and Libby in the hallway waiting for me . " Are you guys ready to go I asked Elena ?"

she shook her head no. Jeremy held my hand and said, " Can't we not go and just stay he said with tears in his eyes?

" We have to say goodbye and heal. Otherwise, we won't be able to move forward," I told him.

Hence, with that, all of the gilbert family went to the church, and almost all of the town has shown up here. Some were saying what shining role models they were.

I almost laughed out loud; they must be laughing in their graves. All the trouble they went through to make themselves not be seen as monsters are paying off.

We went inside the church. Everyone could say goodbye. Tyler was sitting with us, along with the gang. Just when Carol was about to say something about his husband, in walks, Mason, most of them were shocked because no one thought that he would come.

" Hey Carol, he greeted her. thank you for coming. I know you and Richard were not talking, but still, thank you for coming, "she said sadly.

"He was my brother.

Carol, it's the least I could do, he said to her.

he turned around to find somewhere to sit, and when that was when he noticed Tyler.

he went up to him and hugged and comforted him, and he turned around and did the same to us. That when holding his hand, and dragged him to my level and whispered into his ear, " we need to talk, Mason.

he turned around and looked me in the eye. He saw how serious I looked, so he nodded his head  ok. After the service and all the pretended bullcrap where everyone was acting like the two were the second comings of Jesus.

everyone went outside where I told my mom I was ready to say goodbye  to Grayson.

so she let me inside the church alone, where I stood in front of his casket.

" You are a shitty human, but you were a great father, which is why I gave you this mercy. Hopefully, in your next life, you will be better than this I said and kissed the casket.

" That was so touching that I almost thought you meant that said a familiar  mocking voice I didn't think I would be hearing for a while.

" Shouldn't you be in Spain right now devirginizing the local 's I said to him, "I was, but I wanted to see the two bastards get buried today, he said gleefully.

"Do tone down the glee. We are in church, for heaven's sake.

" Try to blend in and don't cause too much trouble," I reminded him.

He smiled and said, "I will try he said mischievously.

I was getting ready to leave when I turned around and said, " Welcome home, Enzo. I left the church in a hurry to find Mason, and I saw him talking to some town folks, so I dragged him somewhere. I spoke to him in private. There I showed him part of what was about to happen to him" so I am a wolf? he asked confusedly,

" Yes, I told him, but you haven't triggered it yet.

" But you now know what you have to do, right? I asked worriedly.

" Yes, and I looked out for Katherine and those wolves,  he said.

I could see the gears in this brain begin turning, so I put a fail-safe spell in place just in case.

Enzo came next to me and said," You sure we can trust him? He seemed a bit slow. chuckled at what he said. 

After all the commotion and the funeral, it was nighttime when the gang stayed, and we had a sleepover .
