The morning sunlight peeped through the closed curtains, falling straight on my face. I rubbed my eyes, rolling on my back to face the other side. My peace was short-lived as I heard the door open. I felt too lazy to open my eyes but still, I successfully recognized the presence in the room, accompanied by the beautiful aroma of freshly baked croissants.

"I know you are awake."

It's useless. I can't fake it for long. I'll have to get up eventually.

I slowly opened my eyes and saw his back. He was opening all the dark curtains, letting the morning sunshine illuminate the whole room. He looked like a hot angel, wearing a white shirt and a pair of light brown pants. And look at me, I probably look like a groggy mess right now.

A yawn escaped my lips as I got up from the bed. My stomach was rumbling like crazy and the delicious aroma of the breakfast added to its craze.

"Get ready, I'll meet you downstairs in 10 minutes, hmm?!"
Alan commanded, raising his eyebrows. With that, he left the room, forgetting to take the food cart with him.

His demeanor made me wonder, like just what this guy is planning today?!

The way he commanded me the first thing in the morning, I'm sensing danger here..

With doubt in my mind, I went straight to the bathroom to freshen up. I quickly ate my breakfast and put on a long collared coat with a pair of denims and my favorite boots. Brushing my hairs, I quickly gulped down the last croissant on the plate before heading downstairs.

I practically skipped down the stairs, looking for Alan. He was waiting near the huge double windows, staring off into the garden.

"Let's go outside."

He slowly turned towards me. I took a few steps forward, blinking my eyes at him in confusion.

"You really want to go outside?! But its so cold and windy!"

"That's not an excuse. I see that you've worn quite some warm clothes."

Seriously! I don't even have the energy to deal with this right now... Like its 9 in the morning dude!!

I rolled my eyes at him, well aware of the fact that he fully ignored it..
He opened the large windows and stepped out into the garden. Having no other choice, I grumpily followed him outside.

I realised that his garden was quite huge, surrounded by big sturdy walls secured by a barbed fence above them. I was curious as to know why he need so much security around his house.

I thought this forest belonged to him and his pack. What is he so afraid of then?

I decided to enquire about it. I called him from behind,

"Alan.."

"Hmm?."

"Why are these garden walls so huge and barbed with wires?"

"Oh, its for protection "

Duh! I know that too. Like what do you take me for huh?! A 6-year old??

"Protection against what? I thought this forest belonged to your pack."

"It does. But every blood moon night, a few of them turns feral and believe me, you don't want to know how dangerous a feral wolf is than a normal werewolf. I try to protect the rest of my pack my bringing them here for the night."

His words made me rethink, about his cold and aloof behavior. I realized that beneath his harsh exterior is a man who genuinely cares about his pack. I don't know why, but I really wish that the concern and care he had shown for me the past few days are not only because of the fact that I'm the Moonchild, but also because of his genuine interest in me.
