*Creak* *Thump*
The double doors closed behind us as soon as all three of us stepped through the threshold. I looked back in horror, but Micah and Alan seemed to be least bothered by it. They are scanning and perhaps sniffing the surroundings. It's so dark in here that I could barely make out the faces of the two wolf guys standing on either of my sides.
"Come on now. We need to be quick. Its dangerous to stay here for long." I heard Alan's voice, echoing off from my right side.
Afraid they will leave without me. I quickly grabbed Alan's arm and shook my head,
"W-wait!! I can't go like this."
"What's the matter, Miss Kiara?" I heard Micah from my left.
"I am not able to see a single thing in here. Its so dark! You both may have night vision but I don't! I'll get lost, fall and hit my head somewhere!" I voiced my words in frustration.
I have been holding on to Alan all this time. I felt him slowly removing my hands from his arms and placing them above his palms. That simple gesture and the warmth of his hands helped me calm down to a great extent. Holding my hands, he spoke,
"Kiara, listen to me carefully. This place is filled to the brim with both dark and divine energies. The dark energy will try to control your mind but you need to ignore it and concentrate on the divine energy instead okay. You are a half blood Kiara. You have both the powers of a werewolf and a witch. I'm sure you can activate them here. Now, do what I say, close your eyes."
Nodding at his words, I took a deep breath and slowly closed my eyes.
"Good. Now, clear your mind and focus only and only on my voice. Feel the divine energy around you."
I resumed taking deep breaths and tried my best to follow Alan's instructions. Slowly and steadily, everything around me started fading out of my consciousness and the only thing I could hear was Alan's velvety voice and the warmth of his touch on my hands. As moments passed, I started feeling my powers coursing through my veins. I could feel my birthmark pulsing under my winter wear.
"Yes, gather that power Kiara. You can do this."
This was the last validation I needed. After that, my body started acting on its own. Feeling the urge, I snapped my eyes open. I looked up at Alan, standing right at my front and then my eyes drifted to my surroundings. A different kind of ecstasy started building up in my stomach.
"I-I did it Alan! I can see everything! I activated my night vision!" I jumped up with glee.
In the moment's excitement, I impulsively went and hugged Alan, weaving my arms around his slender waist. Alan, too, hugged me back. Realisation hit me when he gave a few pats on my back and I heard him say,
"Yes, You did well Kiara."I awkwardly pulled myself out of his arms and gave him a small smile. Trying to avoid the situation, I went over to Micah, who in turn hugged me too, with a huge smile adorning his features.
It's the first time I used my werewolf powers and somehow I felt it to be so different then my witch ones. The divine energy of this place is helping me out a lot."Let's go." Alan commanded.
He navigated with ease among the ruins, me and Micah following in his steps. Along the way, we could make out various inscriptions and ancient drawings on the broken walls and pillars. It seems like this place was once a flourishing beautiful kingdom but something happened that led to its doom. One can even make out the ugly remains of bones and human skulls in the far ends of either side of the pathway.
I took a look at Alan walking in my front, making his way through the fallen rubble and debris. Contemplating, I left Micah's side and with a faster pace, fell in step alongside him.
