We were standing there, then we heard a bang.

I was turned away from Hazel, so I didn't see what happened. All I saw was Hazel laying there.

"Hazel!" I said, picking her up in my arms. My hands were bloody. I saw there was a gun wound in her chest. I began to cry. Hazel groaned.

Good, she's not dead.

I rushed Hazel to our room. I placed her on my bed and went to get George. I banged on his door.

"GEORGE! WAKE UP! HAZEL'S BEEN SHOT!" I shouted through tears. George quickly got up, judging by the rustle in there. He quickly opened the door and he looked tired. "Is she OK?" he asked. "Just call the damn hospital!" I told him. He called and we rushed there.

I was crying. Daisy was sitting next to Hazel in our rental car, holding her hand.

I was driving to the hospital as fast as I could. George and his family were driving behind us. We got there.

We rushed in. George told the people what happened. They quickly got her into a room. "Oh! I'm going to lose both my wife and child!" I said, sobbing into my hands. George patted into my back. "It'll be fine," George told me. I looked up and saw Hazel rustling in her sleep.

The nurses put her in a bed. I sat next to her, holding her hand. I squeezed it. "Hazel? Are you OK?" I asked as she groaned.

Many hours later:

Hazel:

I woke to Alexander's head on my chest, crying. I patted his back. He jerked his head up and hugged me tightly.

"Are you crying, Alex?" I asked, looking at him. "OF COURSE! I THOUGHT I'D LOSE BOTH MY WIFE AND KIDS!" he sobbed, squeezing me tighter. I gently patted his back. "Well, don't worry. Trust me. Nothing will happen to me and the baby," I told him, lifting his head up to kiss him. He smiled. "Trust me." I wiped a tear from his eyes. George came in with Lavinia. His face lit up when he saw me.

"Hazel!" he said, smiling brightly. Daisy came up and hugged me tightly.

"Buck up, Watson!" she said comfortably. I patted her back.
