We started investigating. Hazel checked one part, Daisy another, George at the beds, Lavinia at the other ends, and Kiaan kept watch for his family. We found nothing. "Wait!" Hazel said, pointing to the window. "Alex, this is where I was hurt! I see the blood!" I rushed over and saw it was where the body was. I looked back at Kiaan. "OK, if the body was there, then how did you not hear the scream?" I asked. "Well, actually, well, I did hear one. But Mother told me not to tell otherwise she'd kick me out. I'm only thirteen!" he said. Me and Hazel looked at each other.

"OK, well, we will, um, work on stuff to make sure you're OK when she does kick you out, um, if she kicks you out." I told him, smiling. "I'll take care of you and Shyla!" George said. Kiaan looked at George. "Oh, really?" Kiaan's eyes went wide with happiness. He hugged George.

"OK, I think they're coming back," Kiaan said. He ushered us out. We all walked to our rooms.

I helped Hazel lay down and I laid down next to her. I squeezed her tight to me. She smiled and kissed me on the cheek, then the lips. I blushed bright red. She turned her back to me and fell asleep. I held her close to me and I heard her groan happily. I smiled to myself and fell asleep.

I woke up to hear Hazel weeping. "Hazel, what's wrong?" I asked, sitting up and wrapping my arms around her. "W-Well, I had a dream that I did die." she told me, crying into my chest while holding me tightly. I patted her back. "Well, you didn't, did?" I asked, titling her head up to look at me.

"No, I didn't."

"Then you've nothing to worry about, honey." I kissed her on the lips and held her close. "I have lots of things to worry about; I'm still haunted by the war, you going, me thinking you'd die, now thinking the baby'll die." she told me. I felt tears wall up in my eyes. "W-Well, the baby won't die." I told her. Hazel cried while squeezing me tightly. "Oh, Alex! I'm glad you're not mooning over Daisy anymore!" she told me, kissing me. I smiled. "Me too. But just think, we're going to have a family. Wouldn't that ne nice?" I said, holding her and squeezing them.

"I guess that would be nice. Having a family, having kids with you, Alex. But I don't think it'll be easy." Hazel told me, looking into my eyes. I smiled and kissed her. "Hmm. That's better." Hazel told me, smiling. "See? I can make you feel better. Now let's go to sleep." I made her lay down and I wrapped my arm around her. She smiled and went to sleep. I smiled and fell asleep too.
