The ceremony had started. It was a beautiful scenery. Cherry trees ready to blossom, the sun shining bringing its warmth to the cold earth as if telling it to wake up from a long sleep.

Everyone was already there, including his parents. Sejeong had hidden among the guests. They did not need additional attention, somehow her appearance would raise questions. The fact that she was there is already a risk.

From left to right there were the other ruling families. The Kim Clan with their descendants Jisoo and Jinyoung, the Lee clan with their daughters Hyeri and Jieun, and the Choi Clan with their sons Soobin, Yeonjun, and Beomgyu.

Yeri was there too, her family was probably part of the guests, looking at him with loving eyes and a joyful smile.

His eyes then found Chaeyoung, she was with Ari and Doyoung, and next to her was a solid man with a stern face, all of him was screaming power and an elegant woman with a kind smile, he knew those were Chaeyoung's parents. Nothing could surpass her beauty, he was mesmerized by her.

He have almost forgotten why he was here if it wasn't for five men, probably a little older than his father, who appeared in front of an altar waiting for him.

"So those are the Sages...". He suddenly felt nervous, yet why? They were only five old men, but their aura was strong and oppressive.

The Sages started the ceremony. One by one, doing their charge.

They spoke in unison, creating a voice that was sending shivers, "On this meaningful day, we welcome the first day of spring as well as a new beginning with a new King... Jeon Jungkook please arise in front of us!"

He walked with raised head towards the altar where the Sages were waiting. Hearth beating hard, he could hear it in his years. He made a long bow to them, showing his respect.

Chaeyoung was watching his every move, She worried about his every step, like a true teacher.

Finally, it was official, he is named the future king. The mission is one step closer to the end.

He turned to the crowd, facing everyone as applause and cheers were heard welcoming him and as an act of acceptance of the future ruler...

The music signaled the beginning of the next part of the ceremony, the dance. The part he anticipated the most.

They were ready to start the dance, taking their respective positions as they had practiced before, he smiled at her when suddenly a gunshot pierced through the music and Jeongkook fell to the ground.

Chaeyoung jumped at the sound dumbfounded by the happening, only seconds later fear paled her face, and she fell to him to check his condition. Her hands were shaking, and her eyes filled with tears.

Panic occurred among the people and the garden that first looked like a place of heaven now was just a horror room.

"Get the prince and princes out of here!", the king shouted at the security, he was the only one who managed to keep his calm, it was his duty, and he won't lose another son.

"Mingyu! Catch the shooter!!!"

Sejeong who saw her son falling, after the shoot, and Chaeyoung crying couldn't keep herself hidden anymore and run to them. A few steps and she bumped into someone, that someone was Ari

"Sejeong?", the queen asked confused

Mingyu runs after the shooter through the alarmed crowd. He won't let him escape.

The intruder was fast and skillful, he was pushing the guest from his way into Mingyu so he could run out. But, it looks like he wasn't familiar with the Palace's infrastructure since he was running blindly.

Taking this advantage Mingyu managed to push him into a blind wing of the castle. And that's where the fight between them started. If it wasn't for the need to get the charterer's name, he would have shoot him already.

Mingyu was able to block the punch with his lower arm, and with a quick move, he punched him in the face, making him fall to the ground. Mingyu grabbed his collar but before he could ask him who is he and who had sent him he poisoned himself.

Chaeyoung was in a secured room waiting for the medical corp. Still with trembling hands, she tried to find the injury.

"Where did you get shot? Why isn't there any blood?", she asked panicked

He coughed, and let out a grunt, his hand caught hers, stopping her from randomly checking his body, "I am okay, it's just hurt a little ..."

She kept looking at him, he certainly was in pain, but then he reached inside his hanbok, and took out a small box, which had a bullet in it.

Chaeyoung gasped.

He looked at the little velvet box sadly, with disappointment, and offered it to her, "This was supposed to be your gift... But seems like it saved my life..."

Chaeyoung opened it to find a necklace, which was already destroyed. The gold pendant stopped the bullet saving his life.

"My gift?"

"Yes, ... I heard about your birthday and wanted to give you something... You can return it and I'll get you something else..."

She stayed with the necklace in her hand staring at it... A gift for her birthday... She never got one from Jungkook before... It was her to buy anything she desires, then send the check to him. Later to pretend that it was exclusively from him. Sometimes she was wondering if he even knows on what date is her birthday...

Look at her now receiving one from his twin brother, who knows her for a short time... What an irony...

Jeongkook wanted to take it from her when she catches his hand, "No, I like it... I'll tell the jewelers to add a precious stone to the hole... It's a lucky necklace...", and finally she smiled at him, "Thank you, Jeongkook..."

It was a tiny smile, her lips only moved a little, but it was genuine, and he could swear that she was starting to glow...
His heart let a strong thump...

They created an intimate moment, the empty room with only them holding hands and staring into each other's eyes...

Too bad, it didn't rest for too long, the door opened and the medical corp was there...

"Jungkook, son, how are you?"

Chaeyoung let go of him letting the doctors check him, her eyes met Sejeong's, who got here with the queen...

He is a lucky one, right?
