Chapter 32 - Kidnapped

Jungkook found himself tied to a chair with a sharp pain in his head. Looking up, he saw Chaeyoung, who was tied to a chair like him. They were facing each other.

Scanning her with his eyes, he realized that she was wearing only the robe with which she had entered the bathroom. Jungkook frowned at the thought that the one who stole her, would have seen her while she was bathing, or worse, touched her...

"Did they do something to you? Are you injured?", he asked worried

Chaeyoung looked at him teary-eyed, her chin trembling,  she was scared, "No... I didn't take off my robe... They put me to sleep with chloroform..."

"Have you been awake long?"

"No... Jungkook, I am scared...  I thought the culprit was imprisoned..."

Jungkook felt guilty for choosing this place,  for bringing her there with a little security, and that he let his guard down too soon when he thought that the culprit was caught. He walked into the trap himself and made their work easier.

For now, he needs to be strong for her.

"Me too Chaeyoung, don't worry I am here with you... and I am sure Mingyu is already on his way...", and he hopes Mingyu will find them before their last breath.

"Look who just woke up! Our Majesty!", the room got filled with another voice, a voice both of them know. He wasn't alone but with his devoted comrade. The head of the assassin clan.

"Haejoon!",

Jungkook tried to think why him, what is the reason... Wasn't Haejoon his parents's friend?

"You probably think why I did all of this... Don't worry I will enlight you two with my reason...", he said as he walked to them visibly happy with his success

Haejoon put his hand on his chest as if he was ready to confess, "If I am being honest...  I thought it would be easy to bring my plan to life, but you are one of the luckiest bastards I ever met... First, your brother saved you,  by the way, I wonder where you hid him, then your soulmate saved you,  twice...",

Jungkook didn't react to the insult, he was, in a way,  a bastard.

"So how all this started,  of course with the root of all the problems,  your father...",

"My father?", he wasn't surprised,  but the eagerness to find out all the truth was making him speak and react to eager.

"Yes, your father... It all started when my brother fell in love with,  as he said, the most beautiful woman in the world,  Ari..., he thought that she was his soulmate but..."

"Let me guess, my father made her his soulmate?"

"Wrong, why are you so impatient?", he looked at Chaeyoung, "Is he always like this? How are you dealing with him?", he asked her but Chaeyoung was too numb to answer,  the fear made her like a statue.

"Ari was unusual, she didn't have a soulmate... It's a soul disease... A disease that my brother Jaehyun also suffered from...",

Both Jungkook and Chaeyoung looked in shook at each other... How can someone not have a soulmate?

"When Doyoung and Ari confessed to Jaehyun that they were in love and started dating, the news broke his heart and his unusual disease started to poison his body, and then he died from agony,  he died suffering from pain..."

"Your father, Jungkook, could've saved him, he could've let them be together,  if he let them bond they could've healed each other ... But he's a selfish scum..."

Jungkook couldn't say anything,  because his father is indeed selfish and has big greed for power, that's the reason he and his brother decided to ruin all this monarchy,  to regain his father's sanity, his soul.

"Seeing my brother dying and suffering for years, a thirst for vengeance was born in me... So I decided to take everything from him, to make him suffer, to show him how wrong he was and is..."

"Why me? Why Chaeyoung? We have nothing to do with it..."

"Well, because,  besides the rotten soul of your father he loves you, and your twin brother too, whose existence was a surprise for me, your misery would have made him suffer, as for the lady here... Yeah, she has nothing to do with it, but she messed up my plan many times so, sorry not sorry... "

"My father will find you!", she finally managed to say

"I don't doubt it, but, by then I will be done with the two of you...", he said nonchalantly

"Where was I? Oh yes, did you know that the Sages aren't the only ones to mess up with the souls?"

Jungkook stiffened, seeing his reaction Chaeyoung realized that this must be another secret that he was hiding.

Haejoon made a sign with his hand inviting someone in the room with them. It was an old woman covered with tattoos and different kinds of jewelry.

"This woman is a witch, a very powerful one... the Sages lied telling everyone about their uniqueness... You see I paid her to make you fall for another girl... Or at least to believe that you did love her"

"Yeri..."

"Yes, her, poor girl, she didn't even know why she was doing all of this... While you...,  You were a toughie... I still don't understand how you got out of her spell."

"Too bad Taeyoung couldn't escape, poor thing, he was forced to kill her, then believe this whole story with hatred for you and that he is the culprit of all those attacks... We made you think that it was him... that's why it was so easy to catch him... "

"I should say that I was enjoying seeing your father handcuffed and crying when Ari died," he let out a sigh

"Ari's death wasn't in my plan... I hoped only to destroy his reputation and kill you...  But she, she was just a consequence... "

"And I would have stopped because the suffering from a soulmate dead is unbelievable, ... It would have been enough...  But then,  do you know what I saw? "

"A fucking gold mark on his and Sejeong's wrists! Why does this scum getting his real soulmate? Where is the justice? My brother dies alone and he gets Ari and his soulmate?  So I've decided that I will take the last thing he loves... You!"

"You can do everything you want with me... But, please I beg you, let Chaeyoung go..."

"Nha! You got me curious...", Haejoon walked up to Chaeyoung, he reached his hand out and one of his men had placed an ax... "I was impressed when your bond healed her gunshot wound, so I was wondering... If I cut off her hand, will your bond grow it back?
