"Mingyu, any news?", Doyoung was losing his patience, weeks upon weeks and they still didn't find anything. On the day of the ceremony, Jungkook was lucky, but who knows if the next time they try to attack him again, they might succeed.

Worse is the possibility that the murderer is someone from the palace, someone of theirs, considering that he infiltrated the guests without being detected by security.

"The killer has no trace of his past, he is from a well-trained group of killers, they are not afraid of death, and if they are caught, they will not hesitate to kill themselves...", Mingyu reported helpless, even questioning his investigative skills

"Did you not find anything? No trace?"

" No, your Highness, But we finally found out who are the men watching after Jungkook...", this already gave him some hope that they would find the villain, "The thing is that the ones watching Jungkook and those who shot him are from different organizations..."

" Okay,... And who was that?"

"You won't believe it... "

Concubine Kim's return made a lot of noise, unfortunately for them, her presence at the ceremony did not go unnoticed. Everyone wants to know why is she here. Is it because the king wants her back?

Because of the insistent reporters, it was decided that Sejeong should stay in the Palace, and although this place brings back unpleasant memories, she agreed to stay.

Sejeong wasn't the only one disappointed by her presence here, Chaeyoung didn't like it either. And it wasn't strictly because of her presence but of the fact and the way she was talking with Yeri.

It was making her blood boil the way they were talking like two old friends, smiling at each other and exchanging compliments. It was another ruined day for Chaeyoung.

"Yeri, what are you doing here, and why are you bothering the Concubine Kim?", she couldn't pass by and needed to lash out some stress. It's good that she doesn't know that Sejeong is Jungkook's mother, otherwise, she would kiss her ass, just to please her.

Chaeyoung still remembers the day she met her, she appeared out of nowhere with her cute smile and talk. Yeri is not part of the five families but her parents are respectable and well-known. Saying she is thirsty for money and fame is still impossible.

She simply appeared and charmed Jungkook, and since then he hasn't stopped meeting her. None of them care about the fact that he already has a soulmate, or that he is engaged, they don't even care about the opinion of those in the palace... although, they were hiding from the eyes of the world.

Chaeyoung accepted the reality, you can't force the heart to love... even though it hurts.

The petit girl stood up as if she could intimidate Chaeyoung, not from her height...
"I think you know very well why...", of course, she knows. She comes here to hang on his neck and irritate her eyes.

"Too bad, Jungkook is still recovering, the doctors won't let you in, unless... you are his soulmate...", she enjoyed how Yeri was about to burst, it's a good thing that Yeri knows that no matter what she does she will always be inferior to her.

Yeri angrily took her bag and left stomping her feet, forgetting to say goodbye, anyway, she couldn't do anything as long as Jungkook wasn't around, the people there disapprove of her...

Chaeyoung smiled, another small victory for her. Then her attention turned to Sejeong, who witnessed their mini-chit-chat. She couldn't care less, so Chaeyoung just nod as if to say she acknowledged her presence and was about to leave when Sejeong decided to speak.

"Chaeyoung why do I feel like you hate me, after all, I am the mother of your soulmate...", Sejeong was sure that her future daughter in law has something against her. It was easy to say by the way Chaeyoung barely exchanged a few words with her, and the way she was throwing glances.

"The mother of my future husband is Ari... You, for me, are just a woman who inspired stupid girls that they can marry the King...", finally she let out the venom, Sejeong was asking for it herself. If she wanted her to be honest and talk she'll give her that.

" You pretend to be so correct, but why aren't you next to your soulmate right now? Or Jeongkook's presence made you forget about decency?",

"If you want to preach to someone about dignity and decency do it to your son, or you enjoyed the company of his mistress too much?", Chaeyoung smirked at the sight of Sejeong who was speechless, and she didn't stop there...

"You two have many things in common, both of you love to mingle with someone else's soulmate..."

"You are crossing the line! I won't let you insult me when you don't know a thing about what happened...", she attempted to defend herself

"Oh please, why do you keep playing a victim? There is no way that you slept with him and didn't see the soulmate mark on his chest... You just choose to be selfish...", Chaeyoung just doesn't like liars, she hates them, and now, in her opinion, Sejeong is part of that category of people, hypocrites.

" I even doubt the fact that you didn't know that he was a future king, or maybe you just lived under a rock..."

Sejeong stayed quiet. Thousands of thoughts resurfaced in her mind. She did see his mark, but she chose ignorance. All she wanted was to love him; she was sure he loved her too. All the sparks, the butterflies, and even her heartbeat were telling her that he was the one. So she believed in those signs and let herself be drawn by them.

But to accuse her of something like gold digging she can't accept. She didn't know about his provenance or did she want a life like that...

Before Sejeong could confront her Doyoung came accompanied by two strong men that took hold of Chaeyoung. She looked at them cuffing her hands baffled.

Doyoung seemed angry, he didn't say a word, and she looked at Mingyu who was standing there and doing nothing.

"Chaeyoung, I have to put you under internment...", she stayed strong outside, although inside she felt humiliated, and she wanted to revolt... But instead, she kept her head high with decency. She didn't even try to ask what was the reason for her arrest...

Jeongkook, who just got out of medical care and wanted to finally see her, witnessed this scene in confusion. His smile left his lips when he caught them putting cuffs on her delicate hands...

"What is happening here? Where are you taking Chaeyoung?"

So, what do you think was the reason for her arrest?
