Jeon Jungkook never understood why he became cold to Chaeyoung. He always felt guilty for all the wrongdoings but still didn't stop hurting her.

When he realized that he got his soulmate's mark his happiness peaked, he cherished and was proud of his mark. Little Jungkook expected his parents to let them play together like best friends, but his excitement was cut short when they hid her among the books.

In his first teenage years, he watched as Chaeyoung spent most of her time in the palace surrounded by books and annoying teachers, and how, step by step, they limited her time with her parents, and he couldn't do anything because his father always controlled him. His father kept sending him out of the country or making him do different kinds of hobbies just to be away from her. He never knew why. Chaeyoung in his eyes was always like a ray of sunshine, the gentlest and sweetest being on earth, he truly loved her.

He felt guilty whenever he saw her sadness, he knew it was because of him, so he tried to show her that he cared about her. He was stealing glances from time to time and saw how her cheeks were turning pink when the eye contact was too long or when he held her hand.

As they grew closer he began to gain her trust and they began freely to show their feelings, but then Kim Yerim appeared out of nowhere and he felt as if he was under a spell. She was a nice girl who just came and turned his life upside down. But it wasn't him anymore, he felt as if he was trapped in his body while it acted on its own as if he was trapped in a marionette.

However, he never got very far with her, because every time she tried to kiss him or get him into bed, Chaeyoung's face appeared in front of his eyes and he felt like shit.

Then his hyung, his Seokjin hyung, invited him on a trip and gladly he accepted.

He was in a shop picking out a present for Yeri before returning to the palace when he bumped into a carbon copy of him. At first, he thought it was a mirror, but then the reflection smiled at him and said the strangest thing ever.

"Hi, Jungkook! I'm your brother Jeongkook... I don't think Chaeyoung will be happy that you're buying gifts for someone else...", Jungkook was frozen, confused, and puzzled, who was he and how did he know Chaeyoung? Is he from the future?

" You look confused... Can we talk?" unlike him, Jeongkook was very calm and composed.

They entered a café where they sat down to a cup of Booble tea with the same flavor.

"So you're my twin... How come you know about me and I don't?"

"My mom thinks I don't hear her, but sometimes at night she is calling your name... and maybe you'll find it strange, but sometimes I can see and feel things without any explanation, like some visions, or dreams..."

"And Chaeyoung? How do you know about her?", he asked, a little bitterness creeping into his expression

"Are you jealous?", he smiled smugly, "I think that's because we are twins, but I see her too, and she is so sad right now... ", Jungkook felt ashamed and at fault

"I don't know why I am doing this to her... I know it's wrong but I just can't stop, I feel as if I am hypnotized...", he tried to explain, and he was happy that he can open up, it felt at ease to do so. Jungkook and Jeongkook connected quickly as if they were never separated, he felt like he was talking to an old friend of his.

"Jungkook, I know how to help you... Will you trust me?"

Before starting Jeongkook's plan, Jungkook wanted to see his biological mother, so they decided to switch places for a few days to meet their parents...

When he met Sejeong he didn't know how to properly react afraid that she will realize that it wasn't Jeongkook... He saw a beautiful woman with a kind smile.

But, only a day passed with her and he sees his father at his mother's door that is how he learned that Jeongkook got in a car accident, and he feels bad because it was supposed to be him. That's why without thinking he accepts to return together.

He still remembers the day he saw Chaeyoung again, it was like the day he first time met her, all surrounded by light and he felt his mark burn, a pleasant feeling he longed for. Since then everything felt new to him, as if he just got out of prison. He used every possibility to be with Chaeyoung and tried to make her smile, and he only found it cute every time she glared at him.

When he saw Yeri again, he got scared that the old he will return, but he felt nothing upon seeing her, no love no hate, he simply didn't care. She was nothing but a stranger to him.

Taking advantage of the fact that everyone thinks he is his twin brother, Jungkook used all the available time to find out the secrets and details of the deception that his father and the Sages were hiding. He also asked for a meeting with them to see what they are capable of. That meeting made him realize that not even they know everything.

Slowly he learned what an ass he was to Chaeyoung, that he acted like a stranger, a cold idiot that was hurting the warmest person in the world. And while he badly wanted to tell all his plans he couldn't, he needed to act up and proceed with their plan.

"So you're telling me that all this time it was you and not Jeongkook?", it was obvious and somehow she felt stupid for not seeing the truth, "What was the need for this farce?"

"I can't tell you everything right now but, trust me, I will... "

"Trust you? Jungkook you lied in my face all this time and you are expecting me to trust you?", she got up from the bed ready to leave but he pulled her down and looked into her eyes dead serious

"I only lied about being another person, nothing else from what I said to you was a lie...", he cupped her cheek in his large palm and Chaeyoung couldn't help but lean into his warm, " I didn't lie when I said that I love you... You don't even know how much I wanted to hold you and kiss you every single time I saw you, but I couldn't because I needed to pretend... ", she leaned closer to him, it happened naturally.

"Why didn't you tell us that it was you and not Jeongkook in the first place? Why was the need for all this?", her gaze was as gentle as her voice

"Because that way my father wouldn't stop me from carrying out our plan... "

"What plan?", she tried to get answers out of him, but he figured her out, so he just smiled ready to avoid her interrogation, it wasn't the time for those answers.

"I'll tell you after the coronation... Now let's sleep, okay?"

"No! I want to know everything right now,  and no, I won't sleep in the same bed with you... ", before she could leave, he pushed her into the bed and locked her between his arms, legs tangled.

"Why not? You are my wife, do you even know how long I've waited for this day?",

She was struggling to get out of his hold, and not because she didn't like it,  but because it was too hard to resist. Chaeyoung was too confused about her feelings,  she wanted to hate him but she couldn't, and the craziest part was that she didn't know who she loves, him or the person he presented to be.

"Let go... I can't breathe", she stopped wriggling as she became tired.

Jungkook only lessened his hold so she could breathe freely, "I won't do anything against your will, let's just sleep like this...", he pleaded with her, but she didn't give an answer, only closed her eyes. He understood that it was a yes, although he wanted her to speak with him more.

Unknown to him Chaeyoung smiled shyly as she hid her head, she likes it but she won't admit it to him, nor herself.

How is this? I hope you like it! And thank you for reading
