Chapter 11 - Request

Park Seojoon is one of the most powerful among the other clans, their influence is unbeatable aside from the ruling family. That's why he made it possible to convene a meeting with the Sages and the other four clans.

The Kim clan is kind of their ally, while the Lee and Choi clans prefer to keep their neutrality, not loving the drama between others.

"Are you serious Park? This is becoming ridiculous!" Doyoung scoffed, he was wasting his time when he could have continued his search.

"As ridiculous as your accusations against my daughter!", not moving a muscle on his face he replied nonchalantly.

"I care about my son's life as you care about your daughter Park, but you are taking things too far..."

"Can you stop already? Your clans are fighting since the time of our predecessors...",

"Why should the Park family and we turn a blind eye to their deeds? All they care about is making sure they stay on the throne, and if something happens to their soulmate, they'll have the Sages bring them another one...", Kim interjected, "So if you two don't have the balls to talk just keep quiet as you always do..."

The Sages' vassal called all five clans to enter their room, stopping a fight that was starting.

In the middle of the room, were five Pillars of Light connected by a sixth one in the center. The Sages were standing around them, one pillar for each Sage. Legend has it that these pillars of light represent each of the sages, as well as their life and vital force.

"Unfortunately, as you all can see the light is slowly fading ... We are getting weak...", one of them stated the obvious, there's no need to hide their situation, "When the chosen king is connecting with his soulmate the pillars are getting stronger... That's why we can't prevent their marriage, Mr. Park..."

But Seojoon knows about it, accepted his daughter's destiny long ago, and even tried to make peace with Jeon but this didn't get anywhere. Now he is going to fight for Chaeyoung's respect and dignity.

"It is predicted that after the union of Jungkook and Chaeyoung, new Sages will come, who will continue our path... That's why we are demanding for the wedding to take place sooner than it was planned..."

Doyoung raised his head at their statement. This wasn't in favor and might mess up his investigation as well as his plans.

"As per your request for Chaeyoung to live in her family's house... It won't be a problem, until marriage she can live there... Regarding the abdication of the king... There is no need since Jungkook will take his place soon, but considering your accusations we decided to reduce his control... From now on Doyoung has no right to order her, she is above him...

Park Seojoon got the biggest smirk on his satisfied face. He made eye contact with the now humbled King, savoring this win of his. He liked how Doyoung's face changed, he could see his inner battle and how much he wanted to protest.

Jeon Doyoung's days as king were coming to an end.

"The meeting is over, Doyoung, please remain for a few minutes "

He watched as the Clans leaders left the room one by one and how the door closed with Park's satisfied smile.

"We hope you know the reason those pillars are getting weak is you, we kept silent and accepted your choices, but if you will try to interfere between Jungkook and his soulmate ... We won't let it unpunished ...", those were their last words before telling him to leave.

Doyoung left the room pale, it was the first time in so many years to feel their pressure,

Jeongkook and Sejeong were waiting for his father to return, he was dying to know what the Sages decided.

But the moment he returned and saw his face, Jeongkook couldn't help but think about the worst

"What did they say? Is Chaeyoung coming back?", it was the first thing he asked, his father shook his head

"No, and I won't be worried about her... She has more power than me now...", dissatisfied and defeated, he sat down on one of the cabinet armchairs where the three had gathered, as he leans forward, his head in his hands, utterly downcast.

It takes him a few seconds to compose himself, then, he raises his head and speaks, "We have a problem, the Sages want the wedding to happen earlier..., and Jungkook is still unconscious...", both Sejeong and Jungkook slowly sat down too, this means that they are running out of time and their "special" operation might be ruined.

"Maybe it's time to tell the Sages what happened? It won't be necessary to play this masquerade and put Jeongkook's life in danger...", Sejeong tried to reason him out.

"No! Until the one who is behind all of this isn't found, everyone is in danger...", Doyoung rejected her proposal

"Our only hope now is for Chaeyoung to ask for a little more time... But her father won't let us talk to her..."

"Why wouldn't he? Go and command her, aren't you the king?", she asked confused

"Sages have limited my possibilities...I can't give orders to Chaeyoung anymore...God! Why is she his soulmate?" he let out his frustration, it's getting more and more complicated, and the pressure grows on him. Sometimes he is afraid that he will lose his mind. What is he not doing right?

Jeongkook didn't like the way his father talked, so he asked in wonder"Why don't you like her? She's a nice girl..."

Sejeong scoffed, she has a different impression of her, "She's a brat! Yeri could have been better, she's cute and lovely!", she was about to continue praising Yeri but Jeongkook stood up in irritation, cutting her off

"You two are serious now? I can't believe it..., Chaeyoung didn't want this either, it wasn't her choice, do you think she likes being treated like this?", he lost control of the tone of his voice, and he almost yelled at them. His brows formed a frown, and his hands were in strong fists to the point that his knuckles become white.

"Why are you getting so warred up when it comes to defending her, you act like your life depends on it... You don't know her...", His father observed his strange behavior. Then it came to his mind that his son acts as if he is madly in love.

"Jeongkook... Are you... ", His phone rang cutting him out, "I'm listening! What?", he was in a pleasant shock, "When? Yes, yes, thank you, doctor!", he kept looking at the phone screen even after the call ended.

"What happened?", Sejeong asked with the hope that it was some good news since she saw a smile slipping on his face, while Jeongkook wasn't that interested his jaw still clenched.

"Jungkook reacted, he started to wake up!", he stated cheerfully.

Sejeong covered her mouth, she almost yelled in joy. Her eyes started to water. Her prayers were heard. Jeongkook didn't react he was just looking at his happy parents...

"What's going on here?", they got startled. Ari walked into the room taking everyone by surprise.

"We're thinking about how to make it so that I can meet Chaeyoung...", Jeongkook was glad to see her.

"Oh! I miss her too and luckily, I have an idea...", she said smiling...
