(Y/n) was known as the quiet and shy one in the group, but yet, that did not stop her from being one of the strongest. Rebecca liked to point that out when the others would tease her. She may be the youngest but perhaps also one of the smartest in the group. But none of that is helping her with the current situation she was in. It was her birthday today, and of course, they wanted to do something for her. Despite her saying not to do anything at all for her. But, once Chris and Jill got an idea in their heads, they wouldn't let it go. Especially when they can get everyone else on board.

And now, here she stood, surrounded by her co-workers who were singing her happy birthday. Within seconds of stepping into the STARS office, she instantly got uncomfortable and anxious. But she put on a fake smile and tried to push past this dreadful feeling. The feeling of being the center of attention just only made her feel worse and fill her up with more anxiety.

"I can't believe it's already your birthday! We got your presents over here."

Yet another thing she hated. Having everyone's attention on you while you open gifts in front of everyone. Feeling their burning eyes on you. But, she couldn't make them feel bad as they were just trying to do something nice for her. So, she kept on her fake smile and continued to pretend like everything was okay, that she was enjoying their surprise.

"Thank you." She finally was able to get out. "You guys didn't have to do all this for me. Just a simple happy birthday would have done fine."

Chris let out a big grin. "Oh, come on (Last name), we couldn't just be that simple. It's your birthday, we always go big for them!"

(Y/n) let out a small chuckle and nodded. Deep down, she knew this would have happened. Richard had his birthday last month and it was exactly the same thing. But, a girl could be hopeful that they knew her well enough to not pull something like this.

Minutes felt like hours to her. The feeling got worse and worse, panic starting to set in as she couldn't calm her nerves. With her luck, none of them knew how this was making her feel. Well, everyone but Albert Wesker. He watched from his office as she stood there getting more and more anxious. Watching Alpha and Bravo team being oblivious to that fact as Rebecca and Jill brought out a cake with candles. He saw the fake smile she put on as she saw them. He noticed how her leg was bouncing up and down slightly as she tried to calm herself down. A sigh escaped his lips as he slowly closed the file he was working on. He stood up from the desk and exited his office, heading towards the group.

"Ah, Captain, just in time to help us sing to (Y/n)!"

"Unfortunately, I won't be able to stay for that nor will (Last name)." He turned to look at her. "I need you down in the dark room. Marini and I need the film developed from the last mission."

(Y/n) felt instant relief wash over her as she nodded at him.

"It's her birthday, let her -"

"It's okay, Chris, I don't mind. I'm actually curious to see how they turn out. I'm hoping we didn't lose anything as everything got a little hectic near the end." She stood up from her chair and looked at everyone. "Thank you guys for everything."

After hearing their responses, she left the STARS office and headed down towards the dark room. A sigh of relief leaving her lips. Within seconds of her exiting the room, she heard footsteps behind her and then next to her.

She turned her head to the side and gave him a smile.

"Thank you for that back there. It was getting too overwhelming. I know you probably just wanted me to get the film developed, but you got me out of an uncomfortable situation, so thank you."
