The Past

Kevin- Oh this is Josh, yeah bro you need to go it's the middle of the night have some respect

"You heard him, bye." I said attempting to push the door closed but Josh stuck his foot in

Josh- I will be in my baby's life and I don't care who I have to go through to make sure that happens ( walking away )

I closed the door and and turned and looked at Kevin "I'm sorr-" he cut me off

Kevin- You didn't do anything wrong, I told you I understand and I'm here no matter what I meant that

"You don't deserve to be involved in me and all my mess tho"

Kevin- Crys, I know what I'm dealing with and I'm not running, so let's eat.

Kevin and I finish up dinner and we watch a movie and cuddled for the the rest of the night. The next morning I woke up not feeling him beside me. I got up to goto the bathroom as I do every morning. The aroma of breakfast grazed my nose and that made me smile. I grabbed my robe and walked downstairs. "Smells good in here" kissing him on the cheek

Kevin- I was tryna make you breakfast in bed but since you're already up we can eat together

"I'd love that" I said smiling from ear to ear.

Kevin- After we're done I want you to get dressed, I wanna take you somewhere

"Ooouu where we going?" I asked all excited

Kevin- It's a surprise, you just get fine and I'll do the rest ( chuckling )

I finished eating my breakfast and went to get ready. After I was done getting ready we went on a spa date and he had me pampered. After the spa he took me to the mall and bought me anything I wanted. We stopped in the food court grabbed some food and it was time to go. As we were walking out into the parking lot I noticed Devale and some woman. I tried to act like I didn't see him but he noticed me.

Devale- Hey Crys

"Hey D, you remember Dr.Brown" I said trying not to look at him

Kevin- Wassup Man, I'm Kevin ( reaching his hand out )

Devale- I know who you are, Crystal what you doing with him?

Girl- Unm excuse me, hi I'm Ashley, Devale you're not gonna introduce me

Devale- My bad, Crystal this is Ashley my friend and Ashley this is Crystal my kids mother

Ashley- Your friend Devale?

"Um it was nice meeting you we gotta go" I said trying to walk away but Devale grabbed my arm "you heard me Crys, what you doing with him?" He asked me again

Kevin- I'm her man, What's it to you?

Devale- Nigga was I talking to you?

Kevin- But I'm talking to you

"Hey look, I'm not doing this here. Devale I don't owe you an explanation, Kev let's go" I said and we walked away. I could tell by the awkward silence in the car that he was mad about Devale.

"Babe you okay?" I asked reaching for his hand but he pulled it away.

Kevin- I'm good Crys

"You've never shut down on me before, what's bothering you?" I asked him concerned

Kevin- You introduced me as Dr.Brown and then when he asked you what you doing with me you acted scared like you still owe him something

"First of all watch what you say because I wasn't scared of anything I was trying to avoid fucking confrontation" I snapped as we pulled up to house

Kevin- You couldn't even look that  nigga in the face, your heart broke seeing him with that girl

"SO WHAT IF IT DID? IM ALLOWED TO HURT AINT I?" I yelled

Kevin- Listen I'm not gonna fight with you, call me when you're truly ready to let go of ole boy

"Fuck you" I said getting out of the car slamming the door. He got out behind me running to grab my hand  "Crystal wait" he said pulling me towards him. "I'm sorry I didn't mean it like that I just don't wanna lose you to him" he continued and my eyes started to water "You're not" I said "I don't wanna be with him at all, nothing he could say or do to make me leave you" I reassured him. "You promise?" He asked me "Promise" I said kissing him and he deepened the kiss it felt so lovely I forgot we were outside and I was into it. So into it I didn't notice Devale pull up.
