2 hours later
At the house
Phone call

Person- Hi, I'm looking for Devale Ellis

Devale- This is him, May I ask who's calling?

Person- I'm Dr.Brown calling from Grady Hospital, are you the father of Jaxson Ellis?

Devale- Yes I am, is something wrong with my son?

Dr.Brown- I'm sorry sir, your son was involved in a serious accident and is now in critical condition

I watched Devale's phone drop from his ear and he was in a state of shock. "Baby what is it?" I said to him getting concerned

Devale- We gotta go ( standing up grabbing his keys )

"But baby the kids, tell me what's going on" I said with worry

Devale- Ro is 16 he got them Crys just listen to me and let's go please.

"RO!" I yelled up the stairs "Watch these kids we will be right back please it's urgent" I said before running out the door.

As he was driving I saw Devale's eyes begun to water. "Baby talk to me what is going on?"

Devale- Jax ( Voice cracking ) he's in ICU

"Omg" getting teary eyed "baby what happened?"

Devale- All they said was he was in a serious accident.

AT THE HOSPITAL

Devale and I enter the hospital and immediately ran up to the receptionist.

"We're looking for our son Jaxson Ellis" I said trying to keep Devale calm

Receptionist- The doctor will be out to speak with you shortly

Devale- ( Crying and screaming ) WHAT IS SHORTLY? IS MY SON OKAY?

"Baby calm down please" voice beginning to crack "Come sit down and let's just wait for the doctor"

Devale- I don't want to sit down Crys, I wanna know that my son is okay

"And so do I baby but we can't yell and scream at these people for doing their jobs" I said rubbing his back.

After about 15 minutes of pacing back and forth, the doctor finally came out. "I'm looking for the family of Jaxson Ellis" he said as he glanced at the paperwork. "That's us" we said in unison "is he okay?" Devale asked. The doctor took A deep breath and looked at us "I'm sorry" the doctor said and I burst in to tears. "Your son didn't make it" he continued and I dropped to the floor "NOOO" I screamed and shouted and cried breaking down. Devale was trying his best to calm me down although he was upset himself my heart was sunken in. Never thought I would face losing one of our kids. I finally get myself to settle a little and the doctor comes back over to us.

Doctor- Hi, I'm sorry I just have one question

Devale- Yes?

Doctor- Do you by any chance know where I can contact the family of the the other passenger? We've tried all the numbers on file nothing worked.

Devale- Who was the other passenger

Doctor- A young lady named Britney Adeyeye

"Wait what's her last name?" I said shocked

Doctor- Adeyeye , I'm sorry is there a problem

Devale- No sir there's no problem here's her mothers number, if you don't mind we have to go break the news to our other kids.

We left the hospital and I was fuming "did this nigga set my son up?"  I thought to myself as we drove the ride was silent I could tell Devale was hurting. Once we arrived at the house i opened my door but Devale didn't turn the car off.

"Babe, you coming in?" I asked him with concern

Devale- No I got somewhere to go

"I need you here to tell the kids with me" I explained to him

Devale- You got it Crys, look I gotta go

"Devale, really? At a time like this" I said getting a little upset

Devale- This your fault you always fucking up, you mean to tell me you sleeping with a nigga with the same last name as that little bitch and you didn't have no part in this?

"I know damn well you not accusing me of shit right now and I done nothing but help you take care of these kids since their fucking mother died" I screamed at him

Devale- THEIR MOTHER THAT YOU KILLED

"FOR YOU" I yelled back at him

Devale- No you did that for yourself, just like you killed Kayla for yourself and just like you did Jaxson

"FUCK YOU DEVALE" I said slapping him and exiting the car.
