Running Away

"Lani baby, go in your room and let me and your dad finish talking" I said trying not to snap on Devale in front of her

Lani- Mom I heard y'all's whole conversation he doesn't think I'm his child

Devale- Princess that's not what I was going to say

"Don't fucking lie to my daughter" I snapped at him

Devale- You really gonna do this in front of her?

Lani- Why not I'm 14 I'm not stupid I know you and mommy fight just like I know you hit her sometimes

"Milan! That's not true he does hit me and don't repeat that again to anyone" I said to her not because it was true but because I didn't want her to think abuse was okay

Lani- But mom I've heard-

"Milan what the fuck did I just say? Go in your room now!" I demanded

Devale- Princess I'll come check on you once we're done

Lani- Don't worry about me ( exiting the room )

"You see what the fuck you do? Damaging me and my kids!" I yelled

Devale- You damaged them kids Khad- I mean Crystal

"What the fuck? Is that what this about? You want me to be her?" I got teary eyed

Devale- No that's not what I meant! I was talking too fast

"Just leave" I said flopping down on the bed

Devale- Just know when I leave this time Remee I'm not coming back. I love you

"I love you too but this right here is over" I said removing my ring placing it in his hand.

Devale went into the closet grabbed his suitcase packing some of his things. He then grabbed his keys and headed downstairs without saying goodbye to the kids.

Crystal called Michael and cancelled tonight's plans because she had to be home with Morgan. She sat in her room with her for the night watching all her favorite cartoons until she was sound asleep.

4am

Lani- Ko get up it's time

Kota- You sure we doing this? Momma and daddy gonna be upset

Lani- They don't even want us Ko all they do is fight and leave us home we're not kids anymore all they care about now is Morgan now

Kota- That's not true momma loves us she just loves dad a little more

Lani- Are you coming or not? I'm not gonna stay here while they kill each other

Kota- Why do you keep saying that Lani what is wrong with you?

Lani- Kota are you stupid? Why do you think we left ATL they killed Kevin and Ro helped them this whole family is crazy and I'm not staying so let's go or you can stay and be turned into a murderer just like your parents

Kota- Fine let's go!

Kota and Lani disable the alarms and head out the door with their duffel bags.

The Next Day

"Hey mor get up baby it's time to get ready for your bus" I said planting a kiss on her cheek "I made breakfast"

"KOTA, LANI, let's go" I yelled walking pass knocking on both their doors as I headed downstairs with Morgan.

I made Morgan her plate, she ate most of it and I went to get her dressed for the bus. The older kids are usually downstairs and ready by the time her bus comes but I realized they weren't downstairs when I came back in. I walked upstairs and opened Kota's door he wasn't there next Lani and she wasn't in her room either I checked every room in the house even woke up Kaz and Ro to help but we had no luck. I quickly called 911 and then Devale.

Devale- I knew you'd call

"Nigga this is not the time Kota and Lani are missing" I said frantically

Devale- What? Call the police I'm on my way ( hanging up )
