"No" I cried "the police haven't even come yet Devale what am I gonna do?"

Devale- So you left out of here for some dick lastnight and let our kids run away?

"What the fuck are you talking about? I was here last night while you were with god knows who" I shouted

The police arrived and we made the report. Devale left to go some places we know they like to hang out since we've moved to Texas.

A few hours had passed and there was no sign of them not even at their school. I was panicking at this point I just wanted them to be safe.

Later That Night
Knock knock knock

I quickly ran to the door and it was Lani and Ko and their principal.

"Oh my gosh" I said grabbing them hugging them. "Where have y'all been?"

Principal Jones: Hello Mrs.Ellis I was on my way home from an outing and I saw these two walking up the road I have no idea where they were going or where they were coming from.

Devale- ( walking up behind Crystal ) thank you so much for bringing them home, Kota, Lani go clean yourselves up and come back down.

Principal Jones- No problem, umm Mrs. Ellis can I speak with you outside for a moment

"Umm sure" I said glancing back at Devale

Devale- If you don't mind me asking, why don't you need to talk to us both? I'm their parent as well

Principal Jones- I'm sorry I didn't mean any disrespect I just prefer to speak with the lady of the house if you don't mind.

Devale just nods and walks into the living room as I step outside the door.

Outside

"What's this about?" I asked her nervously

Principal Jones- I just wanted to do a wellness check, is everything alright here?

"Yes everything is fine here, I don't know what's gotten into them" I lied to her
