Chapter 10

Ivy

I was sitting in front of my vanity getting ready for tonight. Micah and I were going out on a date, but I couldn't keep my mind off of Kellen. The way he caught me in here earlier had me feeling some type of way. He made me feel like a giddy little high school girl that was sneaking around with her crush. His love gave me a thrill, a ride I never wanted to get off of. Hold up, did I just admit that?

Yeah, I did. I liked Kellen... I really liked Kellen. I don't know when my deep hatred turned to lust, which eventually turned to like, but that was just it. I liked him...a lot, but I wouldn't admit that to him just yet.

I grabbed my phone off the vanity and scrolled until I got to Caya's name. The phone rang about four times before she picked up.

"What's up playa? It's Caya!" her loud voice rang through the speaker. I laughed at her foolish antics.

"Hey fool. I haven't talked to you in forever. I miss you," I whined into the phone.

"Oh Lord, what's up. Why are you whining?" Caya was always able to tell when something was weighing heavily on my mind. I mean why wouldn't she? We'd known each other our whole lives.

I took a deep breath before letting it all out. "WellIkissedKellen," I rushed out.

I heard a loud cackle on the other end of the phone. "Wooo! Girl that's so funny. I guess Smoke been laying it down too good cause I thought I heard you say you kissed Kellen,"

I frowned. "I did,"

The line went silent for a few moments. "Aw hell, bitch! Was it at least good?"

I laughed out loud. Leave it to Caya to turn a dramatic situation into a joke. She knew how to keep me laughing. "Yes girl, it was amazing. He had me feeling like I was in high school all over again, like it was some type of puppy love." I said dreamily.

I heard Caya smack her lips. "Well that's all good 'nshit, but what about Micah...or Nami?"

I rolled my eyes. Yes, I loved Nami and she was like family to me, but let's be clear she was fast. Nami changed dudes like she changed underwear so I'm sure she'd get over Kellen in no time. Micah was a different story though. I still had feelings for him and I didn't want to disappoint him.

"You know how Nami is, Cay I don't even have to get into that. But, I don't know what to do about Micah. I really, really like him and he's so perfect for me. But, Kellen brings out something else in me. He makes me wanna let my hair down and go streaking in the wind," I said trying to balance the phone between my ear and shoulder while I applied some eyeliner.

I heard Caya's ugly laugh come through the phone again. "Girl, what kinda shit is that? Okay Kenya Moore. He be having yo ass feeling gone with the wind fabulous?"

I instantly cracked up at Caya. The girl was a true trip. I switched sides with the phone and applied eye liner to my other eye.

"Shut up Cay, you know what I mean. The point is I'm stuck at a crossroads."
