*Chapter 24
Caya
"Thanks love," I cooed, while stumbling out of the black sedan. I successfully made it out of the car and blew the uber driver a kiss as he pulled away from the driveway. I reached into my clutch to retrieve my house keys, before making my way up to the front door.
I slowly unlocked the door, and tried my best to quietly close it behind me. I leaned back against the door frame and immediately kicked off the 6-inch shoes of death. My feet were screaming all night at the bar, and I was happy I finally got to rest them.
I lost track of exactly how many drinks I'd consumed, but I knew I was drunk enough to want something to eat. I wish I'd thought of stopping somewhere while I was out, because I definitely wasn't in the mood to cook. I lazily strolled into the kitchen and glanced around. What the f*ck was I doing in here? I wondered aloud as I leaned against the counter to steady my balance. Like a ton of bricks, I suddenly remembered why I was standing in the kitchen. Food. I walked over to the fridge and opened it. My eyes landed on a subway sandwhich, and I figured that would do. I wasn't exactly sure who it belonged to, but I was positive they wouldn't even remember they'd left it in the morning.
I scurried over to the bar stool and wasted no time stuffing my face. I wasn't really a fan of Italian BMT, but this sandwhich tasted so good.
"Mommy?" I heard a voice peep out from behind me as I was on my second half of the sandwhich. I slowly turned my head to see CJ standing in the threshold of the kitchen and living room, wiping the sleep from his eyes.
I slowly sat my sandwhich down and gave him my attention.
"What's up?" I mumbled.
He slowly walked over to me, dragging his yellow blankie behind him. He reached up for me to pick him up, and I complied, but placed him in the seat next to me.
"Where you go Mommy?" he asked me.
I started playing with the sandwich in front of me, not really wanting to have this conversation with him.
"Just out, you know. Taking care of business." I replied before taking another bite out of my sandwich.
"Oh, Uncle Kellen take me out today."
"Really now?" I asked with a mouth full of food.
"Yeah, an-an I see Tee Nami." He added. I lifted an eyebrow and turned toward him.
"Yes, her belly big like this," he giggled, while poking his stomach out and stretching his arms in a circle in front of him. "She say a baby boy in 'dere."
My eye grew wide and I dropped my sandwich completely. Nami was pregnant? That back-stabbing bitch was having a baby, by my babydaddy. What the f*ck? I was livid. My blood was boiling, and my head was swimming. I completely forgot about CJ at the moment, I wanted to do nothing more than go beat the child out of her ass. I slowly took deep breaths to calm myself down.
"Mommy, you okay?" Cj asked breaking me from my thoughts. I glanced over at him and nodded.
"Yeah, I'm okay."
"Otay, well may I have some juice?" he asked looking up at me with those deep hazel eyes that I'd grown to despise. Everytime I looked at him I was reminded of his father. I hated Smoke with everything in me.
