Chapter 25
Ivy
"Ivy you ready baby?" Kellen asked coming out from the bathroom.
"Yes, just let me put on my shoes." I yelled over my shoulder.
As promised Kellen had gotten us a room in downtown Houston and tonight we were headed on a date, but he wouldn't tell me where.
"So are you going to finally tell me where we're going?" I asked as I finished buckling my heels.
"Nope," he simply replied before helping me off the edge of the bed.
I frowned as our bodies collided together. Kellen bent down and kissed my forehead then smiled.
"Don't try to sucker me up," I pouted.
"C'mon girl." He said before grabbing my hand and leading me out the hotel room.
Once we got out to the car, Kellen opened the door for me allowing me to slide into the passenger seat. He made his way over to the driver's side before getting inside and starting the car up.
"One more thing," he laughed before reaching into the backseat and pulling out a blindfold.
"Oh hell no Kellen, I'm not putting that on my face." I protested.
His laughter increased as I stared blankly at him.
"No, I'm serious. I'm not about to mess up my eyeshadow or these lashes fooling with you."
Apparently that was the funniest thing he heard all day, because he was now doubled over in laughter.
"Baby, stop playin' an put this sh*t on," he smacked his lips before placing the blindfold over my eyes...against my will.
"I swear if my make up is messed up, we're fighting." I mumbled.
"Yeah, yeah," he responded before pulling off from the parking lot.
---
After riding for what felt like 30 minutes, the car finally came to a stop. I reached my hands up to remove the blindfold before I felt them being slapped away.
"Be patient." Kellen snapped. I scoffed and obliged him, patiently waiting for him to come around and help me out the car.
I heard his car door slam, and then the passenger door swing open. I held my hand out for him to grab, and he slowly helped me out of the car. As we started walking, I took a moment to try and figure out where we were. I inhaled deeply and the scent of freshwater hit my nose. I could hear the calm sound of the waves, and the sound of boats knocking against the dock.
"Are we on the lake?" I asked growing excited. Kellen knew I loved the water dearly.
"Mhm," he responded while removing the blindfold from my eyes. We were at Lake Clear and there was a yatch waiting at the end of the dock for us. My eyes lit up at the sight.
"Babyyyy," I cooed, reaching up to peck his lips. "Thank you so much. I love this!" I hurriedly ran to the end of the dock step onto the boat.
--
Once we stepped inside Kellen led us over to a table set for two. I sat down and looked around in awe. It was obvious Kellen had rented the boat for the night, and he even had a wait crew for us.
"You didn't have to do all this," I smiled while taking a seat at the table.
He sat down across from me and nodded. "Yeah I did, you deserve it. I know things been crazy lately, so I just wanted ta letchu know that I'm hea and show you that you're appreciated."
