Chapter 18

Caya

I woke up to the constant ringing of my cellphone. I groaned rolling over and picking it up off the nightstand. Ivy's name flashed across the screen, and I hit ignore without hesitant. I didn't have anything to say to her at the moment. I still didn't know who to believe and I honestly didn't want to talk to anyone about anything.

After Ivy finally hung up, I checked the time on my lockscreen. It was 8:55 a.m., and I knew CJ would be getting up soon. I yawned stretching out my entire body, and hopped out of the comfortable king sized bed. I made my through the French doors leading to the room CJ was staying in.

"CJ, wake up baby." I cooed lightly taping his small frame. He didn't move an inch. I swear he slept just as hard as his no-good ass daddy.

"Wake up baby," I said again, this time shaking his body a little harder. He slowly opened his eyes and stared up at me with those beautiful hazel orbs.

"Come on baby, get up and get dressed so we can go eat breakfast."

He sat up in the bed and rubbed his eyes. I placed a kiss on his forehead and began attacking his sides with my fingers. He hated to be tickeled, but I knew if I didn't get him laughing he'd fall right back asleep.

"Mommy, pwease stap." He begged doubling over in laughter.

"Not until you get outta bed, Babyboy!" I exclaimed, tickling him some more. He held his tiny hands up in surrender and tried to scoot away from me. I finally let him go, and he let out a sigh of relief.

"Okay, I'm done. Come on let's get ready to eat."

CJ gladly hopped out of bed, and ran off in the direction of the bathroom. I had been letting him become more independent lately so he ran his own bath water. I gathered his clothing for the day out of his Spiderman suitcase before joining him in the bathroom. When I entered the bathroom, he'd already stripped out of his clothes and climed into the bathtub. I smiled down at him, beaming with pride. My baby was growing up so fast, I just hated that his father would miss the most precious moments of his life.

"Look at you big boy," I cooed. "Did you do this all by yourself?"

He nodded his head up and down eagerly. "Yeah mama, I'a big boy. I do it all myself."

I nodded, patting his back. "Yes you did baby. Mama is so proud of you."

"Mama," he began asking, looking up at me with those big bright eyes. "We go home tewday?"

I sighed, feeling myself become emotional all over again. I knew CJ missed his daddy, but I just couldn't bring myself to being around Smoke's cheating ass. After throwing his phone across the room, I packed CJ and I a bag and left the house. I checked into a suite at the Rennisance for the night, and this is where we'd been ever since. That was two days ago.

"I don't know baby, but if you want to see Daddy I'll take you to see him today. That sound good?"

CJ nooded his head, but I could tell he was still feeling a little sad.

"Come on let's get you out of the tub. The have blueberry waffles downstairs for breakfast. I know those are your favorite. You want some?" I asked him, picking him up out of the tub and drying him off.
