Chapter 33

Kellen

*4 months later*

"One word or two?" Ivy shouted at me.

"You can't ask him that, Ivy!" Caya shouted back.

Ivy stood up from her seat jumping up and down as I kept trying to explain the word etched across my card. We were in the middle of playing Taboo; it was Ivy and me, against Caya and Tahj. I was currently trying to get her to guess the word "marriage."

"Meet me at the alter with your white dress," I began singing. Ivy hit a lil groove to my melody before screaming "marriage" to the top of her lungs.

"Yes, you got it." I laughed.

Before I could flip another card, the timer went off indicating that I'd ran out of time. I reluctantly switched places with Caya, and watched over her shoulder to make sure she didn't cheat.

"Babe, your phone's ringing." Ivy's voice sang out. She passed me my phone, and I looked at the number on the screen. I scrunched my eyebrows in confusion. I didn't recognize the number.

"Hello?"

"Kellen!" the voice on the other side screamed. "Kellen! I'm having the baby!" Nami screamed through the phone.

I pulled the phone away from my ear and sighed. I really didn't want to be there for the birth of her child, but there was a possibility that her baby was mine.

"I'll be there," I sighed, feeling defeated. I knew Ivy was going to have a fit once I told her what was going on. I hung up the phone, and kneeled down in front of Ivy.

I rubbed my hands up and down her arms before looking into her eyes.

"Nami's in labor," I sighed.

I watched her facial expression go from smiling, to a full out mug. Her eyebrow rose and the snarl across her face was enough to make me wish I would've never f*cked Nami in the first place.

"What does that have to do with you?" she calmly asked.

I softly caressed her face. "Baby look, I don't want to be in there either, but there is a slight chance he's mine." I held my head down. "If you don't want me to go just say the word."

I could tell she really didn't want me to leave, but she knew there was a slim chance I could be the father. Finally, she shrugged her shoulders and stood up, pushing me away from her.

I caught her arm before she could run away and pulled her into me.

"I'm just going up there to take the test as soon as the baby is born, it's going to come back negative and then we can put this all behind us. Okay?" I whispered against her cheek. I placed a kiss there, and turned her around to face me.

"Is that okay baby?" I asked once again.

She nodded her head before looking away from me. I lifted her chin back toward me.

"Look at me when I'm talking to you. You good?"

She nodded once again. "Yes," she whispered.

"Give me a kiss." I leaned forward allowing her to peck my lips. I pecked her back and grabbed my keys off the side table before walking toward the door.

"I love you." I told her.

"I love you too Kellen."
