You prayed you'd ne'er change thy stance
You winked from the other side, lassie;
Through the mirror, an innocent glance
An eight year old's smile - so toothy
Who knew that it was the last one gotten?
Now confused, lured down by sins - mistakes,
Sweet girl, you have not gone forgotten.Emerald, don't run too fast for the edge
They are lurking like desperate vultures
Do not urge, quell the fire not with eager;
Steps of acceptance will do you rapture
