Three days

You don't know how to feel about Osiris anymore.

He never once interacted with you within the three days you were here. And yet, it was like he was always around somehow.

The other three seemed to want to make up for lost time though.

Nephthys took it upon herself to start teaching you healing herbs and medicinal plants.

"You should learn how to heal instead of hurting." She said as she picked up your hand and rubbed your palm. "I'm sure you'll be excellent."

You feel doubt coming up your throat. "But... but I only know how to hurt. I don't know anyone who would show me."

"Hmm... I can show you! I'm testing the remedies written in these scrolls, see?" She let's go of your hand and shows you the papyrus she has open at the moment.

"I've read that water can be quite healing too! But I only know how to make elixirs with it... Oh! I did find this though!" She walks over to her desk and rummages through her borrowed scrolls before pulling out a very fancy one.

You recognize it almost instantly from the blue and gold holder she pulls it from.

"This belonged to Nu... right?" She offers it to you. You tenderly hold it, as if it will disintegrate between your fingers.

"How.... How did you get it? Brother never lets anyone touch Mother's things."

"Welll, what if I told you I begged him really hard?"

You give her a blank stare.

"Ugh, fine! He had me promise to teach you healing." Your brows furrowed, confused. She just pouts.

"I... approached him, asking if... if you ever hurt anyone else. He told me that you were the gentlest demigod he's ever met and that... if I can't forgive you, to at least teach you how to use these," She holds up your hands, "for good."

Your vision blurs once more.

"Khonsu! Don't cry!!!! You're not supposed to be crying, you're supposed to be happy!"

"I am! I am!" You pull away your arms to wipe at your face before you slowly open it. Nephthys angles herself next to you and points out some of the text.

"Here, Nu describes their method of using water for healing. They would pool it in their palm and then let it saturate the wound before pulling the skin back together! Isn't that cool?"

You smile. "It is." You're not paying attention too much to the complicated magic stuff though. You're staring at the foreign words across the page.

The same squiggles and lines you would randomly write.

"...water bending one oh one?"

"Hmm?" Nephthys glances at you and then to the weird symbols you're pointing at.

"Is...is that what it says? I haven't seen anything like it! What does this one say?" She points to another one. You squint as you read it.

"...Khnum eat your heart out?"

...

You both laugh hysterically. She claps her hands. "You can read Nu's weird language! You're so cool, Khonsu!"

Your face feels hot and you feel the urge to scratch at it.

"You think- you think I'm cool?"

"Yeah! You're awesome and cold to the touch!"

You smile, bashful. "I think you're cool too."

You spend the rest of the day learning with her.

The next day, you're playing Senet by yourself when Isis enters your room.
