"𝕹o"
Pansy stares at him disbelief, trying to keep her confident composure up instead of crumbling down from the bitter rejection.
"No? What do you mean no?!"
Draco squares his jaw, darkly dragging his pale eyes up from his transfigured Dark Arts book to the inky haired witch, his exasperation only growing by the minute when he says coolly,
"Are you seriously that brainless that you don't understand the simple meaning of the word 'no'?"
Nearby, Blaise and Theodore barely managed to muffle their amused snorts from the interaction, raising their innoce lip ntly in defence when Pansy shot them a stern glare, then quickly re-focusing her attention back to Draco. She stomped her heels into the stone floor demandingly when he didn't return the favour, ignoring her as clear as day.
"Last year you said that we'd begin courting this fall, and now you're what? Backing out? There's plenty of boys lining up for a piece of me, Draco, I have other choices" Pansy states with a huff, folding her arms over her chest and tilting her head up high and mighty.
Draco hums uninterestedly, barely sparing another glance to the pampered and spoiled girl begging for his surname and estate. Perhaps a year or two ago the thought of courting Pansy for marriage would be fun, nice and easy, she would always be smothering him with endless affection and coddling him to the ends of the earth.
It was lovely for most of it, slightly annoying from time to time if he was truthful, but more often than not, he felt fairly smug that she had wanted him. Now though, he doesn't have the time to be wasting by doting on a girl he doesn't have any feelings for in the slightest, or even listen to her whining.
The Dark Lord gave him a task to complete and he had to do it if he wants to live to see the next year.
So no, courting Pansy for marriage was not something on the forefront of his mind right now.
"Draco!" She shrieks, hands coming to rest on her hips, Blaise and Theo rubbing at their ears with a wrinkled nose, having not expected their ear drums to be burst on today's agenda. They shook their heads towards Pansy, knowing that this probably wasn't going to get her any closer to him at all.
Draco inhaled and exhaled deeply, coming to pinch the bridge of his nose, then wincing from the bruising throb in remembrance of being broken. Before Pansy could snatch his book away in a last resort of desperation, he stood himself up, tucking it underneath his arm and beginning to briskly walk away, muttering,
"Don't follow me if you know what's good for you, Parkinson. And for the last time, no, I don't want a fucking courtship with you, and I will not change my mind"
Pansy scoffed loudly, watching him disappearing down the hallway without even a peep over his shoulder to what he's just walked away from. Once he'd turned the corner, she groaned, roaming her dark eyes all around as she tries to think of other ways she can secure Draco Malfoy. Just like her parents had told her to do before consulting the Malfoys for an arrangement in the future.
