𝕿he hour was late, nightfall had arrived with whispers of perfect black, developing into a calming chorus of stars.
On this particular evening, Oonagh felt as though the hours between dinner ending and her Astronomy class had been unbearably slow. Usually by this time, she'd be completing her nightly routine and burrowing underneath her yellow covers until daylight peers through her curtains.
Instead, she was wandering the castle corridors to pass time. She wasn't alone though, Luna was there for some company after she'd decided to sit with Oonagh at the Hufflepuff table for dinner.
The pearly blonde Ravenclaw yawns for the third time in the past couple of minutes earning a mirthful smile from the Hufflepuff, insisting tenderly,
"Luna, go to bed"
"I'm alright, i'll fall asleep if I need" Luna replies airily, growing sleepier and sleepier. Oonagh haltered, turning to eye the younger girl on her feet, hoping that didn't mean she'd just curl into one of the window seats or in the middle of the corridor and doze off. That wouldn't be safe.
Somehow sensing Oonagh's developing concern, she smiles reassuringly, grey eyes a little dazed as she explains,
"I sleepwalk, Oonagh, that's why I wear shoes to bed. I can fall asleep standing up, it's quite useful for times like this actually"
Oonagh bites back a laugh, feeling a strong surge of warmth inside for the extraordinary girl, grinning, "I can imagine. I would prefer if you fell asleep in your own bed though, just in case"
A soft hum sounds from Luna in agreement, swaying on her feet as they continue to walk. They were nearing the Astronomy tower anyway now, and the Ravenclaw tower wasn't much further on. She'll most likely just walk the extra couple of minutes then straight to bed once Oonagh leaves for her midnight class.
They walk in silence, and Oonagh ponders over whether this is the beginning of Luna falling asleep and entering her sleep-walking stages. Whatever it was, she didn't mind, it was comfortable and easy, that was until the blonde was suddenly barged out of the way, knocking her to the ground.
"In the fucking way, Loony...."
A sharp, cold shiver bolted down Oonagh's spine from the unmistakable grumble echoing in her ears, eyebrows deeply furrowing and blue eyes narrowing. Draco storms off down the hall, and into the tower they were heading towards, without looking back once.
She huffs at him as he disappears, definitely not letting this one slide when she gets up there herself. For now though, she jumps into position to help Luna from the floor, feeling a twinge of guilt in her chest, compelling her to murmur,
"Luna, i'm so sorry"
Luna only look to her with a slightly puzzled look as she regains her balance, holding on to Oonagh's hands, now more wide awake than ever,
