𝕻ansy had the look of pure amusement across her face.

"And then apparently she was screaming for her mother to come and save her"

She laughed wickedly, or well sort of snorted extremely unattractively, thoroughly enjoying the gossiping with her friends much to Draco's aggravation. The spreading news of Katie Bell being cursed on the Hogsmeade trip had been the talk of the castle for days, the opal necklace responsible for the deaths of nineteen muggles hadn't been shy to the Gryffindor girl.

However, she was lucky enough to still have her life, being kept in St Mungo's hospital for close observation and the suitable care for her condition. She wasn't supposed to touch the necklace, that's why it had been carefully wrapped, she was only supposed to hand it to Professor Dumbledore, and that was all. But of course, Gryffindor's with their unnecessary need to poke their nose in to things they don't belong, and clearly their hands too.

"As amusing as one could imagine that to be, Parkinson, we all know it's a lie" Blaise mutters, bringing his steaming cup of coffee to his lips and taking a small sip, unbothered by Pansy's defensive glare,

"That's what I heard"

Theo quirked a brow, tilting his head upwards from his book, a smirk teasing his lips, "Oh, you heard it yourself? At the scene of the crime, how do we know you're not responsible?"

Draco's stomach plummeted, curled and trembled nauseatingly at the rise of the topic of who was responsible. Theo was playing with her, of course it couldn't have been Pansy, she'd have been too enchanted by the sparkly cursed necklace herself and then forgotten, ending to be in Katie Bell's shoes instead.

But there was suspicious finger pointing and whispers amongst their peers, trying to figure out who would target an innocent, Gryffindor chaser. Naturally, most of the other houses glanced over in the snake pit, thinking of blood supremacy to be the superior motive and to be only one of those ancient, noble houses that could get their hands on such a dark artefact.

Draco wasn't entirely surprised to feel emerald eyes burning into his skull majority of the time.

"Please, if I need to bring a girl down, I have better, Pansy-Poisonous ways of doing so" She boasted, adjusting her low cut shirt to show the fullness of the tops of her breasts, sliding further along the bench in front of Draco to earn his attention.

Her face visibly brightened when he spared her a glance, trying to wear an alluring, sultry smile to draw him in, slowly dropping as he mentions absently,

"Pansies aren't poisonous, they're bland and edible, like lettuce"

This time, Pansy's withering glare isn't enough to shut up Theo and Blaise with their spells of laughter, and Draco barely even acknowledges Goyle when he nudges him with a congratulatory smile. He's too busy peering over the girl's shoulder to the opposite end of the hall, to the table of Hufflepuffs.
