ONE YEAR LATER

Sadies POV

I step outside of my moms house, the sun still shinning brightly on this summer day, and the seagulls fly freely. The smell of the ocean hits my nose, and I take it all in. Coastal has the same weather, but just something about Beach City feels so much different.

Such a perfect day for a wedding.

I put my purse strap on my shoulder, and walk down my porch. Thankfully, the wedding is right on the beach, so I won't have to take my car anywhere. It'll be a short walk, a walk I can definitely do in heels. My turquoise dress sparkles in the sunlight, and I can't help but worry that I'll get unnecessary attention while at the wedding.

No way, Jenny probably looks amazing.

I continue my walk, my heels clicking with each step. I quickly begin to see the venue over the hill. There's a giant white tent with string lights surrounding it, connected to each supporting beam. On the right of it is the aisle the wedding party would walk down. The arch is made of light wood and hints of gold. As I begin to get closer, I see white petals go down the aisle as well. It's so simple yet so extravagant.

Fits Jenny and Ronaldo perfectly.

From all parts of town I see people walking towards the beach as well. Everyone is dressed up nicely, and I even spot Steven and Connie. Picking up my pace, I near the beach and make it right beside Steven. "Hey Steven!"
"Sadie!" He says, stopping to give me a hug. "I've missed you! You look great!" I can't help but smile.
"Thanks Steven, I've missed you too." I let him go, and see him and Connie are dressed in matching pink attire. "You guys look cute!" Connie blushes, and Steven gives a big grin. "Are you guys excited for the wedding?" Before he can answer, I look up and see the gems. Except, I see two new gems. One is about as tall as me, with triangle green hair. The gem next to her is blue. "Did you guys expand the team?"

"Oh, that's Peridot and Lapis!" Steven says, "It's...a long story."
"You can explain it after the wedding," I say, excited to hear a new story from Steven. We continue inside the tent, and see dozens of tables, all white and golden center pieces. I spot a bar in the farthest right corner, decorated with gold finishes and some floral pieces. There's a big wooden dancefloor in the middle of it all, and I spot Sour Cream manning the DJ booth (no surprise there). Near the entrance is where all the food is, from Ronaldo and Jenny's family businesses. While no one is looking, I sneak a fry real quick and eat it. All of us continue to mingle with the town, patiently waiting for the wedding to begin. While I talk, I can't help but be on the look out for Lars. It's been awhile since we last saw each other. I remember how everyone told me he hid away for months when I first went to college, and I was wishing it didn't happen the second time.

I just want to know he's okay.

From each corner of the tent, a soft melody begins to play, signaling to everyone to make it to their seats. Everyone files out of the tent, making it outside. However, I somehow get stuck at the end of it all. Once I finally get out, the sun is making its way down to the waterline. The sound of the ocean hitting the sand echo's, pulling me in a calm trance. I look for a seat, not finding many available ones. "Sadie!" Steven yells from near the front, "Over here! We saved you a seat!" Quickly, I get to my seat next to Steven. Once I sit, we begin to watch as the wedding party makes it to their places by the arch. The melody from inside the tent being played out here as well. The officiant walks to his place, but I don't catch who it is, as I'm distracted, trying to find Lars. Then Ronaldo walks down, followed by his best man, Peedee, and then Jenny's maid of honor, Kiki. As the wedding continues, I still can't help but try and find him in the oceans of seats.
