The flight back to Forks was anything but peaceful, every sound and every sight was anything but pretty. Since her flight was landing around the same time as her childhood friend's it was arranged for her to be picked up by the chief of police, Charlie Swan. Moments before she entered the main part of the airport, Bella had already landed and met up with her father. Their first proper conversation with eachother had been strange if anyone would give a name to the feeling and Talia was very thankful she wasn't there to witness it.

The girl had climbed into the back seat of the cruiser and sent a kind smile to Charlie before winking cheekily at Bella. Talia had made sure the night before her flight to have her whole playlist downloaded so no awkward silence or conversation would trap her in its grasp. She could faintly hear the two conversing from the front of the cruiser, Charlie had gotten his daughter a car, well, he had brought it from her uncle Billy as a welcome home gift for her.

However her attention was pulled away from her music when Bella had reached behind her to pull one of her earphones away. The girl smiled at her before holding out her hand, she held a book, more specifically Romeo and Juliet, the book Talia had been trying to get her hands on for quite some time now. Talia grinned at her before muttering a thank you, the smile she had on her face was pretty - beutiful enough to grace the galaxies with. Charlie continued to drive in silence as Bella had turned around and started to look out of the window "Hey Lia, how is Jake?" The inevitable question which Talia knew would have come up eventually.

Talia stopped her playlist all together and turned her phone off before shoving the device in her pocket, she had only spoken to Jacob the other day, and again on the flight. She shook her head, a half smile appearing "He's doing alright, except he hasn't been going to school properly for a while." she had no idea what was happening until the school called her and explained the absence of her cousin. Whatever the reason behind Jacob's need to stay home was beyond her. Bella shrugged "Really? He called me the other day, spoke about wanting to catch up when I'm back." That sounded like him, Jacob had always had a crush on the Swan girl. Unbeknownst to Bella that crush was like a candle which couldn't be put out so easily.

The conversation died down quite easily and Talia's attention was given to the views of Forks as the drive continued. The scenery was bewitching, of course: no one would deny that. Everything was green: the trees, their trunks covered with moss, their branches hanging with a canopy of it, the ground covered with ferns. Even the air filtered down greenly through the leaves.

Eventually they made it to Talia's, she still lived in the small four-bedroom house that her parents had brought in the early days of their marriage. Those were the only years given to them and graced with happiness, nothing surpassed the tenebrous event which tore the family apart. Nothing about the house had changed, the paint was still flaking away, the windows were just about clean enough that they were still transparent and the numbers nailed to the door were half loose. She was lucky enough to have Billy and Jacob move in with her, they were as much her father and brother as her real family was.

Talia sighed to herself as she smiled gratefully at Charlie and reached forward in her seat to half hug Bella before opening the door and leaving the car with her belongings. She made her way to the house, sending a wave to the pair as they drove off. Talia chuckled to herself as she turned around to be met with the pair of dark eyes she knew too well, the pair she always found above a smile which had been contagious since as long as she could remember. Because there stood her cousin, Jacob, his hair was still long and his smile full more of his face now, but all she saw was her baby brother. Talia moved forward and pulled Jacob into a bone crushing hug, the kind of hug which anyone would long for if they hadn't seen their family in a very long time.

Jacob hugged back just as much, taking in Talia's sent, one he hadn't smelt in so long. He had really missed his, a cloud of despondency seemed to follow him wherever he went since she boarded that plane all those years ago. When their hug was broken apart, Jacob took Talia's bags and followed her into the house. They had taken everything to her old bedroom which was still the same, nothing changed but the feeling which overcome the pair as they set everything down.
