After hours of endless talking and video game playing, Michael's parents insisted that I stay for supper. And damn, that food was so good.
"You do like Chinese food, right Rachel?" Mrs. Clifford asked.
I wiped my mouth with a napkin, then swallowed before speaking. "I love it, it's so delicious. Where did you get it?" I said, emphasising the word 'so'.
"Well, my husband Daryl here insisted on Emperor's Choice," she said smiling at me.
Being sat across from Michael at the enormously long dinner table, he started kicking my feet lightly with his.
He smirked when I started to kick back. While his parents were enclosed in a conversation, our game of footsie became intense. We both held our laughter inside, not wanting to disturb their talk.
After dinner, I thanked Michael's parents for allowing me to stay over. I said goodbye, as Michael decided he would take me home.
I ran into his room to grab my backpack, then walking back down the stairs, letting him know I was ready.
"Race you to the car," he said, opening the door and sprinting outside. As slow as my reactions are, I lost.
"Well, it would have been nice to know, meanie. You got a headstart," I said laughing once we were inside his car.
"How?" He said giggling.
"One, you were the first one to open the door. And two, you have the keys to the car," I pointed out.
"True, true," he said, starting the car and driving onto the road.
The drive to my house was silent, except for the low volume of his CD playing.
"Let me see your phone," he said when we got to the front of my house. I handed my phone to him, and I answered his question before he even asked it.
"2-5-8-0."
He unlocked it, did something with it and tossed ot back to me. "Text me when you're inside."
"Okay, bye Michael. Thanks for everything," I said hugging him before exiting his car. He drove off, as I got to the front door.
I knocked on it, waiting for the door to be opened. My mom appeared and an angry Luke behind her.
"So what'd you guys do? Where'd you go? Did you have fun? Did you fuck? How'd it go?" Luke immediately bombarded me with all these questions.
"Hi mom."
"Hi, hun," she said hugging me and stepping back so I could come in. "Are you okay? Michael called and said you were sick."
"Yeah, I'm fine," I said, fake coughing as I closed the door.
"Sick my ass," Luke said, turning around and throwing his arms up in frustration.
"Lucas, don't talk to your sister like that," she snapped at him.
"Mum, I'm 18, I-"
"I don't care if you're 80 years old, Luke. DON'T talk like that," she scolded.
As she kept yelling at him, I went upstairs into my room and got clothes so I could take a shower.
I quickly got in, turning on the water and washing my hair, then my body. Hurridly getting out, I slipped my clothes on, and carried my old ones to put in my hamper inside my room.
When I finished that, I sat on my chair, combing through my soaking hair.
Then out of nowhere, Luke comes from my closet, giving me a death glare, locking my door and leaning against it.
"Spill," he said, anger in his deep voice.
