jj drove into the marsh and parked the boat, john b wanted to talk to sarah in the lower level of the boat so jj and el left them be; eavesdropping of course.

it seemed like they were making up which released el but she was still pissed at john b. suddenly; el saw pope and kie pulling up on pope's boat, jj whistled as if to signal for john b.

"el come here" he said grabbing her hand and helping her onto pope's rig "kie come here" kie followed jj onto john b's boat; she was equally as confused as pope.

"pope, what's going on?" el asked "are you driving away?"

"just a little" pope explained "it'll make sense in a minute"

"what are you guys plotting?" el sighed, pope didn't respond.

suddenly, john b and jj dove off of john b's boat and swam to pope's boat. sarah and kie ran towards the front of the boat.

"el you're in on this?!" kie asked.

"no! i had nothing to do with this" el assured as jj held her back from getting to the wheel of the boat and picking up sarah and kie "jj let me go!"

"this is for their own good" he said, struggling to hold el back "we'll come back for you guys in the morning"

"you can't just leave us here!" kie yelled.

"there's food in the cooler and jj rolled you guys a blunt" pope announced, driving away "sorry el".

"you guys just made me betray my best friends" el sighed.

"we're mending relationships babe" jj assured; putting his arm around her.

"i don't know if you guys have noticed but kie and sarah aren't the only ones who need to work some shit out" el took a beer out of the cooler.

"we'll get to that" pope smiled; driving to the boneyard where the twinkie was already parked.

"surf day?" el said excitedly "no scooby do shit? just surfing?"

jj nodded "your boards in the twinkie"

el fought off a smile "okay this is working a little... but i'm still pissed at you"

the four went onto the water, when the waves settled for a while john b paddled next to ellie and sat on his board.

"i'm sorry i was such a hypocrite" he said embarrassed "i just thought i was right because you broke up with me"

el stayed quiet and listened; just staring straight ahead towards the horizon of the water.

"i really loved you... i probably always will" he shrugged "but we've both moved on and if you're okay with me being with sarah... then i'm cool with you being with jj"

el smiled slightly and finally looked at john b "you really mean that?" she asked.

"yeah... you and jj make more sense than me and you anyways" he shrugged "you two look- good together"

"that was hard for you to say didn't it?" she laughed, nudging john b slightly off his board.

"little bit" he smirked "shit! big ass wave coming" he pointed towards the wave pummelling towards them then pushed ellie off of her board so he could catch it before her.
