the pogues were brought into a police tent on the beach, they all sat in silence. there was obvious tension between el and jj now that rafe had exposed her.
they listened to the police radios as they frantically chased john b, discovering that sarah ended up going with him after all.
the rain picked up, the conditions on the water were severe and dangerous. el and kie were crying, el reached for jj's hand but he dropped it.
after what felt like hours of waiting, shoupe and his crew came back into the tent. "did you find them?" el asked.
"no..." shoupe shook his head.
"so they got away?" kie sounded hopeful, looking at the officers.
"we lost them" shoupe hung his head low.
"you drove them directly into the storm man" jj said angrily, swinging at shoupe and getting pulled back by several officers.
"you know he didn't kill anyone" el cried
"we're still looking" shoupe assured.
suddenly, kie and pope's parents came in and tended to their kids. el watched the door hoping that her mother would walk through, that she'd show up just once; she didn't. jj looked sadly at el, tears in both of their eyes, he pulled her in and embraced her.
after a moment hayward grabbed jj and el and pulled them both in to his wife and pope. although el didn't really have a mother... or a father, mr and mrs hayward filled that void for her.

the pogues mourned sarah and john b together, it was assumed that they were gone.
jj and el ended their relationship, el tried to explain to him that they weren't official yet but he wouldn't hear it. that on top of his best friend's death was too much for him to handle so he bailed.

short chapter to end the season, kinda regretting following the plot of the show and not just making it abt the pogues minus all of the gold chasing but whatever maybe once i'm done the 3rd season chapters then i'll include bonus chapters of them just hanging out idk.
